"What do you suggest?"
"Nothing if you're just going to be in a pissy mood the entire time," Rick snaps back.
"Alright. I apologize. Entertain me, peasant."
At this point, I'm sitting on my bed with a magazine in my hand, fingers at the ready to flip open the book. Rick slowly edges towards the bed. When he reaches it he crawls even slower towards me. "As you wish, master."
"Oh God, what are you doing?" I'm inching backwards, only to meet my stupid head board.
"Being your gesture. I'm here to entertain." He grabs my waist and begins to poke my sides. He's tickling me.
An inhuman sound howls from my mouth. It's like a mix between some sort of scream and a laugh.
"Stop, stop! I've been entertained! You can stop now! Rick, stop!" I yell at the top of my lungs.
This goes on for another two minutes until he eventually does stop. He straddles me while I'm desperately gasping for air.
Oh no, there's more? I think to myself.
My panting slows down to its regular rhythm, but my heart beat picks up its speed. Rick is slowly leaning down to meet my lips. I rise to reach his, but this boy tickled me against my will. My lips meet his cheek instead.
He pulls back with an exasperated look on his face. "I don't do being teased, Brandy Roberts."
"Hm, well you do now," I chuckle at him and sit up straight, only to be tackled again. He begins to kiss my collarbone and continues until he reaches my jawline. Surprised by his actions, I gasp in shock. "Rick," I whisper. It's all I can manage to say.
His brown orbs find mine, and their natural light color has only gotten darker. He takes no time in crashing his mouth against mine. It's good while it lasts. Oh, who am I kidding? It was one of the most amazing kisses ever. Gentle and intense. Cool, yet heated. Satisfying but disappointing. Confirming but confusing.
I gently push him off me. Rick's expression is sad and perplexed, and it makes me feel even worse for pushing him away.
"I can't. I just can't. I'm sorry," I squeak quietly, sounding very much like mouse.
"You could if you really wanted to, you know," he insists.
"I don't really want to, not right now. It doesn't feel right, Rick, and anyone could walk in on us. And I know it's going to happen, but I'm not trying to hurt anyone."
"If you know someone is going to get hurt, what's stopping you from this right now?"
"I'm not desperate, that's what! And I can't believe you're actually pressuring me right now!" I raise my voice. If the t.v. downstairs is turned off, they are all able to hear us.
"I can't believe you still haven't made a decision! You're killing me, Brandy. When are you finally gonna make up your mind!?"
"I don't know, but if you really care like you say you do, you won't rush me. What if I'm not who you thought I was and our relationship is mistake? That's too much heartbreak!" I yell.
He yells back. "I'm willing to take that chance."
"I'm not! I've already been heartbroken by someone I didn't even love! It'll hurt too much to get hurt by someone I actually have feelings for!"
The both of us are standing up on either side of my room, both looking at each other with frustration.
"I've never been so confused in my life," I murmur.
