"You're a natural disaster-er-er! Oh-oo-oh! You're a natural disaster-er-er! Oh-oh!" I yell at the top of my lungs. All Erin can do is shake his head and laugh when my voice cracks.
"My mind was frozen in the blizzards, my mind was frozen in your love, in your love. My mind was burnin' in the wild fire! My mind was burnin' in your love, in your love!" he sings.
We finish out the song and before Valentine can start, he presses pause.
"What gives, man?" I reach out for my phone but he smacks my hand away.
"The road, Brandy. Focus on the road." I shake my head and roll my eyes but do it anyway. "Why is Taylor looking for redemption from you like your a holy goddess? He's being more cheesy than usual, and he won't leave me out of it," he complains.
"If that's so, then you should already know what's going on." My tone is rude and snappy, which I can't help. I love Pentatonix, and he cut it off before I could enjoy myself and forget Taylor. "And if you want to be left out of this so badly, what happened between us is definitely none of your business."
"Well Sweety, I'll find out sooner or later. Might as well be sooner."
I groan mentally but exhale harshly at how pushy he's being, even though he's right. Word spreads around like wildfire, and people already think we're broken up since that little scene with me faking to like Josh. Everyone thinks I'm the one who cheated, when in reality I was trying to get rid of Josh to be with the one who was the cheater in the relationship. I'm such an idiot.
"He and Vanessa were together behind my back," I mutter just loud enough for him to hear.
He stays silent and presses play.
"Oh, please don't be so terrified. Please don't be so shy," my phone plays through the aux cord and out of the speakers in my car. You can hear the other voices sing different words and joining back together again in unison at "terrified," but that one sentence stands out to me.
*~*~*~*
Erin and I go out to Starbucks before we head back to my place. Mom and Pop-pop aren't home since they have to do another shoot for the last few scenes for Curious Georgia. They flew all the way out to London, which was highly questioned by me. We have forests in the U.S. Why not shoot it here? Now I'm all alone. Not even Bri is here, and she literally never goes anywhere since she's not "one to be famous." She likes the title as "Nikki Robert's little sister." And me– well I never really had a choice of whether I wanted to be famous or not. My mom and dad made a mistake for all the world to see, and that was when it was all decided for me. Not that I don't enjoy what I do, but it's like when my life is supposed to be the most normal, relaxed life, something else has to happen.
I just want a break from the excitement. I want Rick to be my friend again. I want Taylor and I to be together again. I don't mind the fact that Erin is a constant flirt, no matter how many times I turn him down. Everything was okay at the beginning of the time I moved, but it just goes to show that drama is forever my shadow, and there's no way to get rid of it.
I tell all of this to Erin, who seems like he doesn't have a valid way to respond to me. The ranting makes me feel hell of a lot better, even if he's not the ideal person to go to for personal issues. And it surprises me that I out of all people actually need to rant. I thought I didn't have feelings and emotions. Why does it seem like all of them are attacking altogether?
Surprise, surprise. I'm just full of the unexpected today.
Erin hugs me from my desk chair, which pulls me forward in an odd position, but it's warm and welcoming anyway. And oddly, I'm nice enough to hug back.
