I was rushing down the stairs in a hurry. When I finally got to the bottom of the stair case I checked the time, 3:08 P.M. I began to walk as fast as I could without getting in trouble for running. Teachers in my school were strict about such things. "I'm definitely going to miss my bus if I don't hurry" I thought to myself. I finally reached the doors to the parking lot. Seeing as my bus was just starting to leave I took off in a sprint attempting to get to it in time. By the time I reached the end of the long concrete strip the bus was already down the road. I rested my hands on my knees and panted trying to catch my breath. "Dammit" I whispered to myself. I stood back up to notice that my friend's vehicle was still in the parking lot. "She must have afterschool rehearsal" I thought. I pulled my phone out of my back pocket of my jet black skinny jeans and phoned her. "Come on, pick up. I know you have your phone." I said quietly as I listened to the repetitive ring.

Sam: Hello?

Thank goodness! She actually answered! "Hey uhm, I missed my bus. Is there any chance you could bring me home after rehearsal... please?" I asked as politely as possible. Sam had been treating me different lately. I wasn't sure that she even wanted to be around me for some reason.

Sam: Uhm... well... I can't. I have to go straight home and do homework. I can't bring anybody home today.

Go figure. Same answer as always, I thought to myself. "Okay then... thanks, I guess." I responded in disappointment.

Sam: You're welcome. Talk to you later, bye.

I rolled my eyes as I ended the call. I then let out a loud grunt of frustration not sure of how I would get home. I hopped up on the small brick ledge that lined the concrete strip and thought as I searched the contacts in my phone. I didn't even talk to most of these people. Nobody on my contacts list would give me a ride home, except maybe Glen, but Glen was working. I sighed knowing the long walk that awaited me. I hopped off the brick ledge, plugged my earphones in and started walking.

An hour or so into my walk I decided to stop by a small coffee shop that was on the way to my house. As I was walking in, not paying attention to anything but my feet and the music playing in my ears, I ran into a fairly tall gentleman. I immediately looked up and pulled my earphones out. I took a quick moment to examine him. He was tall and wearing a black sweater. He had dark hair. He was kind of cute, although I only had a quick glimpse before realizing what I had just done. "Oh! I am so sorry sir! Oh my- God I'm so sorry!" I put my hand to my head feeling embarrassed. He had coffee all over his sweater. I could feel the heat showing in my face as my cheeks turned red. He chuckled a little at my reaction. "Hey, its alright. Its just a sweater. I have many others." I stared at him blankly not sure how to respond. "No, no it's not o-" He cut me off, chuckling again he said "If it really bothers you that much you can make it up to me. How about tomorrow? Meet me here? Same time, you can buy me another coffee. Don't worry about the sweater." He winked at me and smiled. "Uhh, yeah, sure." I said to him still not sure how to go about this situation. "Alright, sounds good. See you then." He continued walking out as he was doing before I ran into him. I watched him as he left and got into his car still trying to process the situation. I walked up to the counter and ordered my coffee then sat down and waited. That guy looked so familiar. I was curious to know who he was. He was so nice to me. I feel like any one else would have hated me for that. "Orman", the lady at the counter called my name. I turned my attention to her then got up to get my coffee. I walked out of the coffee shop and continued my walk home, still pondering the previous events.

I entered my front door when my aunt called my name in a questioned tone. "Yes, it's me." I called back. She appeared in the door way. "Why so late today?" She questioned me. "I uh. Well, I missed my bus. Sam couldn't give me a ride home so I had to walk." I wasn't even going to mention the gentleman I had run into. She'd have a lot to say about it, and if I was honest with myself, she'd probably smack the bloody hell out of me for being so stupid. She stared at me and gave a "hm" of disinterest to my response. "Well. That won't happen again, now will it?" She asked in a some what mean tone. "No ma'am" I mumbled and looked down. How was I supposed to meet that gentleman tomorrow? I thought. I guess I will have to find a good excuse to "stay after school", I responded to my own thought. Aunt Megan was such a bitch sometimes. "Well why are you just standing there?!" My thoughts were cut off by her raised voice. I looked up at her, worried what she was going to say or do next. "Put your stuff up girl. You have chores to catch up on. You know I don't like the filth." She reminded me. "Yes ma'am" I responded as I made my way up the stairs quickly to my bedroom to put my stuff down.

After cleaning the house, cooking dinner, and doing the dishes I made my way back up to my room. I was exhausted. I plopped down on my bed. By now it was 8:21 P.M. My phone buzzed.

Glen: How was your day? (6:27 P.M.)

Patience? Are you okay? (8:21 P.M.)

Patience: Hey Glen. I'm sorry, it was a long day. I had to walk home, and Megan was being a bitch as usual. I ran into a guy at the coffee shop. It was weird. How was your day?

Glen: A guy at the coffee shop eh? Was he cute?

I giggled when I saw that message.

Patience: Well, kind of, to be frank. But he looked familiar, I couldn't tell you why though.

Glen: Oooh. Spooky. ;)

Patience: Oh shush. (I giggled as I realized it was getting late.)

Hey, its getting late. I need to go to sleep before Megan comes in and flips out. Good night.

I put my phone on my night stand and rolled over thinking about tomorrow's events. I was kind of excited. I eventually fell asleep to these thoughts.
