When I awoke I had realized nobody was in the room. The lamp had been turned off and the door was closed. I laid in the bed for a moment. I did not want to get up. I just wanted to lay in this bed for all eternity. I could never leave this bed and die here, and be fine with it. I already felt dead. I pushed myself to get out of the bed with a heaviness in my chest. When I opened the door I noticed that something smelt really good. I made my way to the source of the smell. On my way, Kevin and Manny were sitting in the main room. "How did you sleep Patience?" Kevin asked me. I have him a half smile. As I was walking towards the kitchen Alix was walking out with Evan closely behind him. He had a cake in his hands that said "WE LOVE YOU PATIENCE". I looked at the cake, then Alix, then Evan, and back to the cake. I felt the heat start rising through out my body. "Do they really think a cake is going to fix the fact that my best friend just DIED?!?!" I thought to myself. I huffed, and then turned around and stormed to my room, trying not to slam the door loudly. I felt the tears coming, and now I was crying out of hurt and frustration. "I just need to pack my things. It was a bad idea coming here. If I had stayed maybe Glen wouldn't have died. Maybe if I was with him he wouldn't have been where he was when it happened." I thought to myself as I started to cry harder. I walked to the closet and grabbed my bag, throwing it on the bed. I started grabbing what clothes I had brought with me and throwing them into the bag. I heard someone knock on the door. I was going to tell them not to come in, but before I could speak Evan opened the door. "Patience, what are you doing?? Why did you just storm off like that?" Evan asked me in a worried tone. With tears still falling down my cheeks I responded, "Evan... I need to go... My best friend just died. I want to go home... I need to be there when they have his funeral..." Evan looked at me with sad eyes. "I understand... But... Can you at least hang out with us for a while before you go?" I thought for a moment, then nodded with my eyes closed. "Thank you... I'll leave you be now. Just come out when you're ready." Evan said to me. He left the room and quietly closed the door behind him. I threw myself on the bed and let out a deep sigh. "What am I doing?" I thought. I got up and finished packing my bag, still crying. When I was done I took a deep breath and wiped my eyes, pulling myself together. I slowly opened the door and made my way to the main room. I sat by Evan and curled into him. "Alix, I'm sorry for not accepting the cake earlier. I didn't mean to reject it... This is just hard for me right now... Thank you though." I said. Alix waved it off telling me that I was forgiven and that he understood. "Sooo... What do you guys want to do?" I asked.

It was about 6:30 P.M. when we got back. I walked through the door laughing, "that was so much fun!!!" I yelled. "Glad you had a great time Patience." Evan said. I gave him a bit and tight hug, and then Alix, Kevin, and Manny. "Thanks guys... I really needed that." They smiled at me and all muttered "you're welcome." "Well... You ready Patience??" Evan asked me. I ran my fingers through my newly dyed and cut purple hair, and looked down. I quietly answered "No... But... I have to go, so I guess I'm as ready as I can be..." Evan frowned at me. I walked to my room and grabbed my bag off of the bed, then walked back to the main room. Evan already had his keys in his hand standing by the door. Kevin gave me a big hug. "Please come back??" He asked me, I nodded my head in agreement. I hugged Manny again, and Alix shouted from the kitchen. "Don't forget your cake!!" He came out with my cake in his hands. "Thank you Alix" I said. He gave me a big hug then messed up my hair saying "I'm gonna' miss you Patience, please be back soon." I responded, "I'm coming back, I promise." He gave me another hug before I turned to leave with Evan.

Evan and I stopped at a coffee shop on our way to my house. I sat in the booth while he got our coffee. When he came back he placed a coffee in front of me then sat down. "Evan?" I spoke softly. "Yeah??" Evan replied. "I don't want to go back to Megan..." I told him. "Okay, well where do you want to go??" He asked me. I thought of Sam, but Sam was just an image in my review mirror now. Then I thought maybe I could stay with Glen's mom until the funeral, but then thought it'd be too upsetting. I sighed and put my elbow on the table, propping my head up by placing my chin in my hand. "Where else can I go??" I thought. "Uhm... Can you drive me to this one place... I want to see something." I asked him. "Sure." He said. We finished our coffee and got in his car. I told him where to go, and he started driving.
When we got to the house, the lights were off. There was still a sign in the yard. No vehicles in the driveway. "It's still for sale..." I said quietly. "Patience??" Evan asked concerned. I squeezed the key in my hand. "Here is good Evan." I told him. "Patience, you can't just go into a random for sale house." He told me. "It's not a random house... it's my house." I told him as I opened the car door. "I'll call you." I said as I got out. "Please be safe... I love you sis." He said back. He just called me sis. He told me he loved me. I felt a warm feeling in my chest, but it was good. "I love you too bubba..." I said back as I gently closed the car door. I waved to him as he started to drive off. When he turned to the next street I started to make my way to the front door. I slipped the key in and turned it. I took a deep breath and opened the door. It was dark. I tried to turn on a light, but none of the lights in the house worked. "It's okay, I can work with this." I thought to myself. All of the furniture was still where it had been when I left to live with Megan. I went to the kitchen and searched the 'junk' drawer. I found a flashlight that fortunately still worked. I used it to look for other things I could use. I found quite the hoard of candles around the house. I remembered my mother loved to light candles, scented or not. I paused at the thought of my mom, remembering how amazing she was. I brought all of the candles into the living room. "How the hell am I supposed to light these??" I thought. Then I remembered something. I turned around and walked into what used to be my parents bedroom. My dad always kept a 'secret' stash of matches. Why? Who knows, but they definitely came in handy right now. I found the matches, but before exiting the room I went into the closet. I just wanted to see if any of my parents' clothes were left here. They weren't, but I found a box on the high shelf. I climbed up the wall shelf so that I could reach it. I grabbed it, then held it close to me and made my way back into the living room.
