Evan's P.O.V.

"Th-this is m-my address".

She was staring at me. I saw the color flush from her cheeks, and her hand started to tremble. She looked terrified.

"Who are you?!?!"

She had raised her voice entirely at me. She started trying to leave. I couldn't let her go yet. I panicked and grabbed her wrists attempting to stop her. "Wait!", I said quickly hoping that she would freeze. "Please, just listen to me. I swear to God I have a good reason for this.", I begged Patience. My attempt to stop her worked. She slowly sat back down at the edge of the booth and waited for me to speak. I realized I was still holding her wrists, and that she was probably already scared enough of the situation. I let go of her wrists to let her know that I wasn't trying to control or hurt her.

"Is this really your address??", I asked her quietly. I saw her nod her head up and down slowly at me. "Oh my God. What if I actually found them?! What if I'm actually related to this girl?!" I thought to myself excitedly. I let out a chuckle, but I was still trying to control how happy I really was about finding her. "Patience, my name is Evan. Evan Pearce.", I figured since I had already scared her enough the least I could do for the poor girl was tell her my name. Shortly after I noticed her eyes get wide and her face went pale. She appeared to have been holding her breath for some time now. "Patience? Patience are you okay? ", I asked her worried. She looked at me quickly. She responded, "Uh- uhm... I'm sorry what?? Wait no, hold on. I'm sorry. Wait. Evan Pearce. Evan Pearce is sitting in front of me. You're sitting in front of me with MY address in your hand??" Patience appeared to be in shock, I guess she knew who I was. I honestly thought it was kind of funny. I laughed at her choppy response, then assured her, "Yes, I, Evan Pearce, am sitting in front of you, Patience, with your address in my hand". I remembered that I still needed to explain why I was holding her address in my hand, "Look, it appears that your family, or someone you know may have some kind of long lost relation to me. Is it possible that you could show me the way to your home? ", I asked her. "Wow, way to sound like a creeper Evan", I thought to myself, but then shrugged it off. Patience seemed unsure, "Uhm... yeah. Sure. But first, you should understand that your visit is highly unexpected to both me and my guardian. She may not be very welcoming to you. Are you sure you want to go today??". I thought about it for a moment, but I decided that it was worth the shot, "That's fine. I would expect a reaction such as that, but yes, I do want to go today."

I had been driving to the house for about 10 minutes. We were finally on the street I had been looking for, and I knew that I was getting closer and closer to solving this puzzle. "What if these were actually the people I had been searching for?", I thought to myself when Patience interrupted with a "Right here". She was point to a house on the right as I turned into the drive way. I took a deep breath as we got out of my car. I followed Patience to the front door as she opened it, alerting whoever was home that I was with her. Seconds later I saw a tiny, short lady appear in the door way. She appeared to be much older. She looked stressed and had dark brown hair and light brown eyes. She was drying her hands with a dish towel. She invited me in and asked Patience if she could brew me some tea. I figured Patience wanted to be included in the conversation, and considering the fact we just had coffee, I wasn't too worried about it. "Oh, actually no thank you. I just had some coffee, but also she may want to be in the room for this. My name is Evan by the way." I said in the most polite way I could to the lady. I held my hand out for her to shake it. She took my hand replying, "Megan". As we sat down I said to Megan "It's nice to meet you ma'am. Are you Patience's mother?" She gave Patience a look then replied with a hesitant "No... Patience's mother died of cancer when Patience was 9." I saw Patience lower her head trying to hide her facial expression. "Oh my. I'm terribly sorry, and her father? If you don't mind me asking." I asked Megan. I didn't want to intrude too much or be too nosey, but if she didn't mind telling me I would like to know. Megan replied, "He drank himself to death after Patience's mother's death. He was very heart broken." I started to feel bad for Patience. For someone so young she had been through too much with both of her parents passing and all. "Oh no. That's so sad. I'm very sorry for the losses." I put my hand gently on Patience's shoulder to let her know that it was okay. "So what are you to Patience?" I asked Megan. She sounded like she was tired of the questions, "Aunt.", she told me. "I'm sorry if I'm asking a lot of questions. I just have a few more and then I will be gone. What were their names? Patience's parents." I said back to Megan. "Their names were Jewely and Kyle Orman." I immediately recognized the name. "Did she just say Kyle Orman?! She just said Kyle Orman! That's my biological father! Oh my God! I found them!!" I thought to myself. I was all too excited to hear this, but still felt upset that both my father, and his wife, had passed away before I got to meet them. I collected myself again. "Kyle? Orman?" I asked Megan to be reassured. Megan gave me a nod. I knew I had to hold back my excitement so I cleared my throat before saying, "Ms. Megan, I believe you may be my aunt." I saw shock hit both Megan and Patience's faces. I held my breath waiting for a response. Shortly after I found myself looking at Patience, who happened to be falling to the floor. I reacted as quickly as possible and tried to stop her head from hitting the ground, but I was too slow. Then I heard shouting.

I looked up to find Megan standing over me. "Look what you have done!!! Get out of my house! You're an imposter!! My brother didn't have any other children, you liar!! Get out of my house now!!!" Megan was throwing words like knives at me. "Please! I can explain EVERYTHING. I'm not lying, I swear on everything I have! I am Kyle Orman's son. I didn't intend for anything bad to happen when I came here. I promise. Just please give me a chance and listen to me! And if not that then at least let me carry Patience to her bed before I leave. You can't just leave her on the floor like this!" I retaliated back at Megan. Megan picked up a glass vase and threw it at me screaming, "Leave right now!! Leave or I will call the police!!" She was interrupted by a knock on the door, and luckily she had missed me when she threw the vase. It had hit the wall behind me and shattered. Megan walked to the door and glared at me taking a deep breath, then opened the door. A tall young man with short blonde curly hair stood in the door way. "Glen." she said surprised. "Hi. Uhm, may I come in? Is Patience here?" Glen said to her looking in at me. "Uhm, actually Glen this isn't the best time. Could you come back later?" Megan asked him. "Yeah sure. Who is this though?" Glen asked Megan still looking at me. "Uh. This-this is Evan. Evan this is Glen, one of Patience's friends. Actually, Evan was just now leaving as well." Megan told Glen as she gestured for me to leave. I obeyed her wishes and slowly walked out while Glen and Megan said goodbye.

I started to head to my car when Glen stopped me. "Hey man. I don't know you, but can you tell me what was just going on?? I'm worried about Patience... I know her aunt can be kind of a bitch." he said to me. I chuckled at the "kind of" part. "Uhm yeah. Well, this probably sounds really bizarre but we just found out that I'm Patience's brother. Patience fainted, and I tried to take care of her, but her aunt kind of flipped shit. She threw a vase at me and screamed for me to leave. That's when you showed up." I told him. "Damn... I hope Patience is okay. That really worries me, and that really sucks. I'm terribly sorry things didn't go the way they should have. I want to go back in, but I don't want to make anything worse. Listen, if there's anything I can do for you please let me know." He said back to me. I thought for a moment. "Actually, I know this might not be smart, but you can come here tomorrow right?" I asked him. "Of course!" he replied. "Alright, cool. Can I give you my number? I would like for you to call me when she wakes up or if anything bad starts to happen. I mean. She is my little sister, I want to be here for her." I told Glen. "Yes! No problem! I think it's great that Patience will have somebody else around. What's your number? I will definitely give you a call." Glen said to me. I gave him my number and thanked him as he got in his car. I got into my car then drove back to the hotel.
