We exit the mansion in the Mukami's limo, which Kou insisted we used, instead if walking. I didn't mind, that meant he doesn't have to know about what I really am any sooner. I sat all the way in the back, hoping he would sit somewhere else, but just my luck, he plopped down right next to me.

"So, why are we going to your apartment?" Kou asks me. I look over at his flawless face, and sigh.

"I'm just grabbing some of my stuff, that's all." I reply. He smiles sweetly in response, and its completely fake, which gets me slightly mad. "Why are your smiles fake?" I ask, and he looks shocked when I say this, but quickly covers it up and looks at me, his red eye glowing.

Wonder what he's trying to do. Melt me? That would be funny. Not really. But I'm not melting, so whatever.

Suddenly, his eye stops glowing, and he's looking at me shocked and curiously. "How can I not read her heart?" He mutters to himself. I guess I wasn't supposed to hear.

"Its pretty rude you know." I say to him. He looks over at me, confused, and I just shake my head slightly. "You shouldn't act so fake, then search my heart without permission, even I don't even sink that low to find out information about someone." I turn back, to face straight, and close my eyes. Before he can response, a lift a silencing finger at him, trying to concentrate. I smell the woods nearby, and the grass some of the other people have on their lawns. I hear some dogs barking, and crying babies inside their cribs at home. From what I can tell, we're about three blocks away from my place.

"Stop." I say, and the limo stops immediately. I turn to Kou as I unbuckle my seatbelt. "We get out here." I get up and head to the exit. I try my best not to stick my ass in Kou's face when I exit, because I don't really want to give him any ideas. I quickly exit, and Kou follows shortly after. He closes the door behind, and I walk away, pretty sure he will catch up.

"Why did we stop here? We could have gone all the way to your curb." He asks me curiously. I just shrug my shoulders, and continue walking forward, ignoring his annoyed sigh.

As we continue walking, I feel like something or someone is watching me. I turn to look at the woods, and see a shadowed figure, but it disappears almost immediately, so I almost missed it. I tense, and Kou notices.

"What?" He asks me. I continue walking forward.

"Nothing." I say stiffly. I feel a hand on my shoulder. I freeze.

"I may not be able to read you, but I always know when someone is lying." I can feel him smirking, but I slap his hand away, turn around, and glare at him angrily.

"Do. Not. Touch. Me." I growl at him, and lower my gaze, a shadow crossing over my face. And just to be annoying, he starts chuckling and giggling like a little girl.

"My apologies. Shall we go now?" He asks. I turn around around stiffly, and walk faster, in the direction to my apartment. When we're about a block away, I smell smoke.

I stop walking, and look up at the sky. There's a huge cloud of black smoke, right where my place is supposed to be.

Fire. Damn it!!!

I sprint forward, not bothering with Kou. As I get closer and closer, I see my apartment, and the whole place is being engulfed in flames and black smoke is constantly polluting the clear night sky. Thankfully, all the other residents seem to have already been evacuated, and were standing off by the side, waiting for the recently arrived firemen to out it out.

No way in hell am I going to let a little fire keep me from getting my necessities!

I'm about to run inside, but a hand grabs me by the wrist. I turn around, and Kou is looking at disapprovingly.
