My eyes crack open painfully, the bright light above me shining too brightly. A groan escapes through my lips, as my aching body adjusts to my movements.

To my horror, I can't move my hands, or my legs. My whole body is strapped down on an uncomfortable, hard metal table.

What is this? Where am I?

The only light is the one shining onto my face and body as I examine my surrounding. Dread fills me at an intense rate, and I can only think.

Where's Raven?

"Hel-" I try to speak up, but my throat burns from being dehydrated.

How long have I been out?

A fit of coughs take over my body, the action scrapping against my sandpaper throat painfully.

"Here." A startlingly familiar voice brakes the silence, and a hand with a glass of ice water and a straw leaps from the darkness.

"Drink." The same familiar voice commands, pushing the straw against my lips encouragingly.

I wrap my lips around the plastic straw, and take in a breath. Cool water immediately spreads across my throat soothingly.

Without hesitation, I drink it all in a matter of seconds with greed.

The hand moves away, and footsteps are heard. Suddenly, the lights to the rest of the room turn on, blinding me even further.

The strap on my forehead prevents me from turning my head to identify the man, who slowly walks back, making my skin tingle with anxiousness as I think about how familiar his voice was.

Cool hands caress my forehead, causing me to flinch in the restraints. The sounds of buckles unlatching fill my ears, cashing a spark of hope to light up within me.

Why? I'm not sure. This man is the reason I'm here, and I have a feeling he won't be letting me go anytime soon.

Once my head is free, my head swivels to the right. My mouth pops open, my heart jumping to my throat as a like of pure horror masks my face as I look at the man before me. My vision blurs, the familiar sting of tears rising in my eyes prominent.

"Hello, Yui." He says, that kind smile that I'm so used to looking faker than ever.

The water he gave me earlier allows me to speak one word. One word I don't want to say at all. My voice comes out as a barely audible whisper.

"Father."

The end.

Thanks for reading! If you want a sequel let me know in the comments, and please vote.

One of my friends made me realize how trash the beginning of this story was, and I'm sorry you had to suffer through that (not in a bad way, more like constructive criticism). This whole story was an experiment for me to write, and as the lazy person I am, I'm not going to edit the several spelling and grammatical errors that I made.

Sorry not sorry. 😇

Thank you all so much for reading, the support you've given me, and the 5k views on this story! I never believed that would happen, but I'm definitely happy about it.

And if you feel so inclined to do so, check out my other story on this account. It has nothing to do with DL, but it's something I am definitely excited about. It's about dragons and magic and crazy stuff like that. I promise the writing is way better in that than this whole story combined.

Until next time!

xx
