Chapter 24: A Small Reunion

We're situated in a large office, Gabriel's office to be exact. I'm sitting on the other side of his huge desk, waiting for the three stooges to get comfy on the surrounding couches. His mate is sitting on the edge of the seat beside me, ready to get up and run if necessary.

"So, what is your name?" I ask the red head, who looks nervously at me, and twiddles her thumbs.

"S-saoirse." she stutters, reminding me strongly of Yui. I give her a warm smile.

"Well, Saoirse. I'm sorry about earlier. I just wanted to wind up the great and powerful Lord Alpha Gabriel." I tell her, sending Gabe a wink.

"Yeah, don't ever do that again, or I will chop a limb off of you." my brother syas, grinning happily that he's seeing me. I turn back to face him, and Saoirse visibly relaxes from the absence of my stare.

"And, how long has it been since you've found her?" I ask him. His smile drops slightly.

"Two weeks." he says. My eye pops open, and I turn to her.

"Two weeks?!" I ask her to confirm. She nods. "No wonder you're so nervous. Has this doofus been mean to you? Trying to be all brooding and shit?" I ask her. She tries to fight a smile, so she bites her lips. She does a small nod.

I turn back to Gabriel, a my gaze burning into his face. He looks a little worried for his safety. I slowly get up, and walk around the desk towards him.

I stand above him with my arms crossed.

"You're telling me, that you have been a little brat towards this sweet looking girl?" I ask him, hissing venomously just to scare him.

"She make look sweet." he looks over at her, "And trust me, she really does. But that mouth of her is as sharp as a whip. She can't disrespect me in front of my pack like she's been doing."

I turn my gaze on her, portraying anger.

"Disrespecting my brother? In front of his pack?" I ask her, and she nods in submission. "That's the greatest thing I've ever heard." I laugh lightly, and lightly punch Gabe in the arm.

"How old are you, and how old is she?" I ask him once again.

"She's 23." he mumbles. I smile knowingly.

"So does that mean you're going to do it? You have until she's 25." I ask him.

"Well, obviously." he replies. I sit back down on my seat.

"I have important stuff I need to discuss with you." I tell him, then glace around. "Alone." I give him a serious stare, and he nods in understanding.

"After dinner, we can talk privately here." he tells me. I nod in agreement.

Suddenly, the door smashes open.

"WHERE IS SHE?" a familiar voice screams. I slowly turn around, and stand up, a little nervous.

"Hey, Eris." I say, smiling sheepishly, and waving. Her orange eyes lock with my one silver eye, and a huge smile lights up her face.

"ARTEMIS!" she screams once again, flying towards me. She tackles me to the ground, the momentum of her flying hitting me, and sending us at least ten feet back. She hugs me very tightly, still screaming with excitement.

"It's been a while E." I say to her, squeezing her just as tight.

She pulls back, and lifts me up to stand.

"A while?!" she exclaims, "It's been a century!" She starts hitting me with a bunch of questions, causing me to smile again.

I've been doing that too much since I got here.
