The day flew by with Sapphire getting a bunch of "Happy Birthday"'s and presents. Though she appreciated it, she got very annoyed by it. When she got home she walked in the door lightly humming bright side and went straight up to her room trying to ignore her family. As soon as she opened her bedroom door she could tell something was off about the room. She pulled out her earbuds and walked across the room to her bed where she sat down, still looking around She went to set her phone down on the clear space that she always leaves for it on her nightstand when it fell to the floor . Confused, she looked down at her phone then back up at the top of her nightstand to see a small black velvet box. She smiled and picked it up, rolling her eyes, wondering how on earth she could have missed that. As she pet the soft exterior of the box, she wondered what it was that her parents had bought her. Slowly... she opened it.
Sparkling in the box was an emerald ring that matched the necklace Cal had given her. No way did her parents get her this. It's too coincidental.. too beautiful.. too much. She pulled the ring out of the box and slipped it on. At once she felt the overwhelming feelings of love and warmth. Once the ring was on her finger she heard the Skype ringtone. She leaned down and picked up her phone to see a picture of Cal smiling and posing for the camera. Immediately she answered. "Hello Love." Sapphire smiled and put her hand over the necklace "Hey Cal.. I love what you got me." He looked down, also smiling. "I'd hoped that you would... did you get the ring?" She nodded and looked at it admiringly. "Yeah, I love it, thanks." He nodded and just looked at the screen for a moment. "So... do you have plans with your family today or...?" Sapphire shook her head. "No, I'm free, where do you want to meet?" "Park" He looked to the side, his face growing serious before he looked at her again. "Right, I have have to go. See you there, say around 4? I could take you out to eat and we could see a movie around 6:30?" Sapphire's heart fluttered. "That sounds... cool." She smiled then realized something. "Hey, I'm turning 17 at 6:13!" He grinned. "Well love.. is there anyone you'd rather turn 17 with?" She shook her head. "No one in the world."
Sapphire rode her long board to the park wearing the same clothes that she wore to school, sure that Cal would love the outfit. When she got there she sat down on the swings, pulled out her phone and started reading through their old messages. Not two minutes later, she felt 2 hands sneak around her waist. "Hello love, you look ravishing." She sighed and leaned against him, lightly nodding. "Are you ready for what I have planned for you?" She turned her head around and looked at him. "Absolutely."
