Newt POV
I balanced both trays carefully as I made my way up the steps, on my way to see Ricky. I made it to her door and stopped. Oh. "Ricky!?" I called quietly. No answer. I glanced at the two trays and sighed. I crouched down and set them both on the floor, then quickly stood back up, opened the door, and peeked in. Ricky was lying on the bed with her back to me. I knelt down to pick up the plates, and suddenly two feet appeared in front of me. "Need some help?" Ricky. I sighed and grabbed both of the plates. "No not really." I knew my face was bright red. Her blue eyes sparkled as she laughed. I smiled and followed her in, setting the trays on the table. She sat on her bed, staring at me intently. I reached out to pull up a chair, but she grasped my hand.
"Sit by me, silly!" I laughed as sat down next to her. "You sound better." She pursed her lips. "I feel tons better." That's when I noticed we were still holding hands. I coughed and clearing my throat, reaching for the trays.
Her cheeks got a little pink. I gave her a half smile. "To-Go order for Ricky!" She squealed a bit and grabbed my arm. "A milkshake!" I shrugged, embarrassed. "Eh, bought it might bloody tempt you." She smiled. "Thank you Newt." She took my hand again, and I looked up into her eyes. I smiled a bit, cocking my head. "No problem lovely."

*1 week later*Lizzy brushed her nose against mine with a sigh. "I gotta go. Clint will already be furious, he'll freaking explode if I push this off any longer." I pecked her on the lips. "Have a good day, my Lizzy." She pushed me away, and with a small smile, headed up the stairs.
"You gotta good one there slinthead." I whipped around, embarrassed. "Alby! Do you need me for something?" He shook his head. "I'm just saying. Don't let her go." He brushed past me and down the hall. I followed him, confused. "He's not talkin' any bloody sense." I muttered as I was passing the deadheads.
I kicked a rock. "Don't let her go." "Uh, Newt?" I felt a cool and on my shoulder. My head snapped up."Ricky! Sorry, I didn't know anyone was here..."
"Are you okay?" She rubbed circles on my back with her thumb. "I'm fine." I stated. She smiled sweetly. "Good." She grasped at my hand. "Come here!" I was almost tugged off of my feet, so I stumbled, jogging to catch up. "What are we doing?" I called. She laughed and sort of disappeared into the gloom. I started to sprint, as well as I could with my limp. "Ricky!" I called, slowing. I looked around me, keeping a brisk pace. Where'd she bloody go?
"Ric-AH!" My foot caught on a rock or root or something and I slammed to the ground, the impact knocking the breath out of me. I gasped like a fish out of water, trying to grab enough air to sustain me. My breathing evened out and i opened my eyes, looking up into the trees. It was eerily quiet. A red light gleamed down at me through the trees. I reached out, as if to touch it, and it swiftly disappeared from view. "Bloody hell." I muttered, wincing in pain as I sat up. A sudden commotion came from my left and I jumped to my feet. I went momentarily blind and scared the everlivin' klunk oughta myself as the cracking and snapping grew closer.
I rubbed my eyes hard, trying to regain my vision. I opened my eyes, blinking hard. I saw black dots, but other than that I was okay.
Suddenly the sounds of crashing and snapping increased, and I whipped around just in time to see a wide eyed Ricky loom up out of the gloom. "Bloody he-!" I got cut of again as I tripped and fell onto my butt. "Ow." I muttered as Ricky knelt in front of me, big blue eyes worried. "Newt, shuck, I'm so sorry." I winced as she helped me up. "Nothing to worry about love, just a little scraped up, that's all." She pulled me into a hug. I patted her back and squeezed. She pulled back and looked up at me, smiling. "I'll stay with you this time." She brushed a hand down my cheek, then grasped my hand and gently pulled me along. The dense fog cleared up as we walked, and the forest seemed to get brighter. We walked in silence, and I watched her wavy brown hair bounce as she moved.
She slowed suddenly and I bumped into her. I tried to calm the fluttering in my stomach. An image of Lizzy suddenly popped into my mind, and I was overwhelmed with guilt. I looked around, as if out in the middle of a forest someone would catch me alone with Ricky. She crouched down behind a bush, me ungracefully plopping down next to her. "What're we-" "Shhh." She placed a long thin finger on my lips and smiled. Then she glanced back out at whatever was behind the bush. I kept quiet and poked my head around. There stood an abandoned barn. I raised my eyebrows. How come I didn't know about this?

"Okay, we can talk here without anyone interrupting us." Why did that thought please me? We had crept up to the barn, and finding it safe had gone inside. We were now standing facing each other in the middle of the floor. A half smile slipped across my face. "Good that." She blushed and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. I subconsciously reached out and pulled it back out. She grabbed my hand and held it to her cheek, closing her eyes with a hum.
