A/N~ WARNING!! High emotional levels may occur. Please avert eyes if you have a serious Lizzewt condition. Don't say I didn't warn you.
-Warrior BuzzAll eyes immediately turned to the box, and I tried to calm the feelings swirling around inside me. Ricky was suddenly beside me, a steadying hand on my shoulder. I looked her in the eyes and narrowed my gaze. "We used to be friends." I told her evenly.
Very good friends.
"Very good friends." I murmured. She nodded solemnly. "I know. I hope we still are. All of this is for a reason." I nodded back, not stopping to think about what she meant. From that moment on I think there has been a silent peace between us two.
The box squealing its way open distracted us, and we took a step forward, trying to get a good look at the next unlucky shank to enter this Hellhole. He was lying on the floor of the box, one of his forearms shielding his eyes from the sudden light. I remember that feeling. Then I catch a glimpse of his eyes. Brown eyes. The ones from my dream. His arm shifts slightly, and I catch a glimpse of his face. It's the boy from the picture.Tom. Thomas. Tommy.
A bunch of names shove their way to the front of my mind. I quickly jump down into the box, and he stands up to face me. "Lizzy." He breathes. The voice from my dreams. Gasps and shouts sound out from above, and the box shakes as some people jump in. "Thomas." I cried out, but then slapped my hand over my mouth. "Shuck it." I was suddenly yanked around to face none other than Ably. "HOW DO YOU KNOW HIM?" He shouted in my face. I glanced over at the Greenie, or Tom. "I don't actually know." My voice shook as he got lifted out of the box. Ably released me and cursed under his breath.

We all stood above the box, most of the Gladers had dispersed, except for Minho, Newt, Ricky, Gally, Alby and the Greenie. And of course, Chuck, hanging around in the background looking for some gossip. Alby had been pacing around us, mumbling. Newt was glaring at me from across the circle, looking as if he wanted to say something. I did my best to focus on the task at hand and ignore him. "What's going on here Greenie?" Ably asked Thomas. He looked confused. "Why are you asking me?! I just got here! And you...shanks won't even tell me anything." Ably didn't respond, only kept pacing. "So many greenies, two girls, two boys. Can't be coincidence." He looks up at us. "I will ask you one more time. Do. You. Know. Him." He said it more like a statement instead of a question. "All I know is his name." I lied, looking Thomas up and down. "Nothing else." Ably poked my shoulder. "You sure, Elizabeth? This ain't no good time for jokes." I shoved his hands away, snarling. "No, I'm just trying to entertain you. Of course I'm sure! How many times do I have to tell you!" I threw my hands up in frustration. Alby coughed. "Something weird is going on here. And it all started when you showed up." I suddenly felt really emotional. Shuck hormones. I cursed in my mind. I felt my lip quiver as I looked down. I was enveloped in a hug, and my nose filled with a familiar scent. I looked up to see none other than Tom holding me. "I remember." He whispered quietly. "That you acted tough, but really, you were just a big softie." I giggled a bit. "Elizabeth, I'm really sorry, I-" I didn't hear the rest of Albys apology, because suddenly, Thomas's lips were on mine. I immediately fell into a familiar pattern. I heard gasps all around me, but all I could focus on was Thomas soft lips against mine. "Bloody hell." I heard someone snap, then two sets of footsteps walking away. It took me a moment to register that.
Newt. Oh, god, NEWT!
I shoved away from Thomas in horror, and spun around to see Newt walking away, limp and all, Ricky trailing behind. Alby tutted, and I spin around to look at him. "Shame." Was all he said, before he turned and walked away.
Oh, I shucked up.Newt's POV
I should be the one over there hugging her! But Tommy, or whatever his bloody name is, is over there now. Ugh. There was a sudden silence- and then they bloody kissed. Right in front of me. Wow. I felt a hand grab mine, and turn to face Ricky. She raised her eyebrows. "Believe me now?" I shook my, head, not knowing what to think. "Bloody hell." I snapped, then stalked away, hearing Ricky follow close behind.
*3rd person POV*
Ricky looked up at Newt, who still had his hand on her cheek. I mean, she was holding it there, but he could've pulled away if he wanted to. She shook her head a bit to clear it, letting go of Newts hand. She had one shot. It's not like WICKED had a time travel machine...yet. "She's not who you think she is." She blurted. Newt looked shocked, then angry, realizing who she was taking about. What a way to start something like this. WICKED must be regretting their decision right now. They were going to send in one of Lizzy's sisters, but then they realized they would be better variables in the Scorch, so she begged for the job. She loved sweet, sweet revenge. "What?" He snapped. "Lizzy?!" He sounded outraged. She took a deep breath, feeling as if a pile of worms were crawling around in her stomach. "Yes." His face filled with rage. "You can't just drag me into a bloody forest and accuse my bloody girlfriend of-!" Ricky shushes him, and quickly pulls of photo out of her pocket, shoving it in his face. The same one Lizzy has of her and Thomas kissing. It is a very old picture, back when they were actually dating. They broke up right before she broke into the Maze. She told him her plan, and he strongly disagreed. She got mad that he wouldn't help her, and they broke up. Thomas was smart not to help that shank. But this picture is a bit edited. In the background there was a picture of Newt and her kissing. This had happened one night during a party. There had been booze, and well, somehow they ended up playing truth or dare. Someone got a picture. Neither one of them had remembered it in the morning, the picture and the witnesses who remembered the only evidence. "What?" His rage disappeared. "What is this klunk?" She doesn't answer, weighing her options. Which way was the way to go? Ricky decided on the one that would hurt Lizzy the most. She grabbed Newts face between her hands, and pulled his face to hers. Their lips crashed together and fireworks exploded behind her closed lids. How did she not remember this!? Newt absentmindedly responded, tangling his hands in her hair. She touched the tip of her tongue to his lips, and he moaned, pulling her closer. As she put my arms around his neck, he seemed to come to his senses. He pushed her away with a gasp, and they both stood there breathless. She looked up at him, suddenly realizing. She had...liked that? Was she falling for a guy she barely knew? Well of course she knew him. Oh, shuck shuck SHUCK! She looked up at him, and he was staring at her with wide-eyes. "That was..." He trailed off, shaking his head. "It felt...familiar." She nodded, struggling to keep her face blank, trying to hide the turmoil of emotions inside her. "Exactly my point." Her voice came out as barely a whisper, but he nodded slightly. That's when the Greenie Alarm went off. Both of our heads snapped forward. He was shocked and surprised beyond belief, but it had merely startled me. He's right on time. I thought grimly as we made our way back to The Glade.
A/N- I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to reveal that much. That was just a slight filler chapter, there will be a couple of those in this book, and books to come. You should obviously know by now that 3rd person is a bad thing that you should be scared of. Like WICKED, for example. But don't they say WICKED is good? ;)
