Minho snorts. "Sadly, Captain Gally lives on." He says with a little salute.
I sigh. "Shuck it." Newt laughs suddenly, but stops when the seriousness of the situation hits him again. He goes silent and stiff.
"Who was murdered?" I pat my nose delicately to see if the bleeding had stopped. It had. I threw away the tissue and put the ice pack on my nose.
"Alex." Minho says quietly. I freeze.
"Oh, god." I knew he was going to get banished anyway, but murdered by an actual human instead of a griever was just wrong. "Do you know who did it?" I ask. Minho shook his head. "I just found out. But you sure as shuck can ask Alex if you want."
I slapped him. "He's dead, sassy pants."
Minho took a bow and started to head out of the room. "Obviously it had to be someone important. Someone who had a key. Come and see."
Newt and Clint started to go, but I stayed.
Clint looked back. "Coming Elizabeth?" I waved him away. "Blood? No way." He laughed and disappeared through the door with Newt on his tail, not even looking back.
As soon as he was gone I pulled the picture out of my pocket. I'm sure you remember it. I found it when I was stuck in the slammer. The one of me and a boy. I stared at it uncertainly. Was I doing the right thing?~
"You know, you don't have to go to the Gathering." Newt sighed and smiled softly.
"First you force me to go to a banishing, now you say I don't have to go to a bloody Gathering. You are a mystery I will never unravel. I hopped down the last two steps, balancing easily. This whole 'only has a right hand' thing isn't as hard as I thought.
We stop in front of Alby, who is waiting for everyone to arrive. He nods as Newt enters the room and leaves me in an awkward situation.
"Heyy, Alby." He grunts and turns to greet another person with a nod. That man is more bear then human I tell you.Minho POV
"Hey Newtie." Newt glared at him as he took his seat. Ah, how he loved teasing people. Next to Newt sat Mr. Eyebrows himself, as grumpy and irritable as usual. He had suspicions it was him who had killed Alex.
"You staying for the gathering?"
"Nah." Minho give him a look. "Dude, I have an actual job to do. And these things are as boring as shuck."
Newt waved him off so he headed out the door, toward the maze walls.
Minho bumped into Elizabeth half way to the doors. "Heyy Minho." She stopped me in my tracks.
"I'd absolutely love to stop and chat, but, I gotta do my job." She looked around quickly, and leaned close.
"Clint and Jeff don't need me today. Can I pleeaaasssee come with you!" I rolled my eyes.
"No." She groaned and shook me. "Come on, be a buddy." I sighed. "You aren't going to shuckin leave me alone are you?" She shook her head too fast. I groaned out loud and stomped my foot like a girl. "Do you really want to get your butt eaten by a griever?" She rolled her eyes. "I have the best of the best to protect me." Then that shank saluted him! He growled, and hunched over a bit to look like Gally. "You shall call me Captain Gally. You are my servant. Do whatever I say."
She laughed. "Want me to wipe your butt for ya too?"
We were both laughing soon. "So is that a yes?" I looked at her eager face.
"No."~*~*~

Elizabeth POV
This is soooo boring. So, it turns out it was a stomach bug. I puked all over Chuck, poor guy, and Newt confined me to bed. He can be pretty boring, even for Newt. "Feeling any better, love?" Newt said, slipping into the room. I groaned and slammed my head into the pillow. "Unfortunately, no."
He sighed and patted my head. A sudden stomach roll had me flying for the bucket on the edge of the bed.
Newt sat next to me as I gagged, but nothing came up. I stayed like that for awhile, my body trying to get rid of a nasty vile liquid that wasn't there. Then, once it calmed, I flopped back onto the covers in frustration.
Newt crawled in next to me and kissed my forehead. "Hotter then ever."
And we lay like that, me bored as ever, but happy Newt wasn't in mortal danger. If only things could have stayed that way. With both of us not on the edge of death. But, alas, life is a bitch.A/N~ Hey. So I have a question. What do you honestly think of my book? I just had a friend tell me it wasn't good, so I'm kinda questioning myself. Be honest.
I'll update in a few days. Bye!
