Dracon Leader of Hade's Legion
I have got to say nothing is itchier than human skin. I keep scratching my arms and there's this permanent burn left behind. The human realm still gets on my nerves with their naive nature towards Gods and the supernatural. The previously mentioned supernatural creatures, myself included, are forced to glamour their true forms, in order to keep the precious humans in the dark. I'm forced to wear a glamour that I hardly ever use, unless Hades himself demands it.
Hades has of course given me this mission, seeing as I lead his legion, but the human world is vast and might I add over populated too an extreme level. I have little to no idea where Hades lost child could be. What little I do know is thanks to Hades spies. After the death of Persephone, Hades became more isolated, the guards were rumored to have only ever been summoned for their information on the wear about of Demeter. Though Hades is a private man, I believe the only reason he had Demeter followed was because he missed Persephone and Demeter was his closest link to Persephone after she died.
Hades spies brought information of Demeter's travels to the human realm, which I might add is not at all uncommon. The king of the underworld was not at all phased by this and had paid no attention to the vacations Demeter took to the human realm, however now it is clear he should have. Demeter's most commonly visited area in the human realm was the United States, according to Hade's spies. The spies said that within the United States Demeter frequented Wisconsin. I admit that I have heard of the United States, even all the way in the underworld, but I can't say I have heard of Wisconsin.
As I look to my right I see a short red demon, who is quite charmingly scratching his derriere. I pity the lower demons of the underworld and their social graces.
"Wisconsin," I demand while staring down the red demon. It makes a gargling noise and hits a few buttons on a dial, which I assume as an affirmative that he is setting the portal to Wisconsin. There is barely any noise as the portal switches locations. The portal is not like the humans describe in their films, but rather a wave of air that resembles steam. The demon begins to gargle again and points while stomping a foot. I raise an eyebrow at the smaller and inferior demon, before walking forwards into the portal.
The feeling of large amount of pressure is applied to every surface of my skin as I take one step into the portal. As I move my other foot forward the pressure releases and I come face to face with a monster. My hand immediately falls to my hip grasping for my sword, which I embarrassingly remember was forbidden on this mission by Hades himself. I inwardly grown at that fact before squaring up with my opponent. I look at the thousand pound white beast with black spots. I want to laugh at whoever created a beast like this. The legs on it look weak at best with a tiny head willed with a tiny brain I assume. The thing doesn't have any muscle on it, but instead carries it weight in its stomach and chest. This beast is not a worthy opponent and as a warrior I will not attack unless it attacks first.
The beast does not however make any movements, but stares at me with half lidded eyes while its jaw moves left and right in a grinding movement as it chew grass. I admit I have no clue what to do with the beast, so I walk around it, but not before it lets out a loud 'moo.' I jump back around sure the beast is taunting me, but it remains with its back to me, while it eats. I shake my head, because I know that from my first few minutes here, this is not what I expected.
After walking away from the white and black beast I finally take survey of the land. The tall round red building with peeling paint has a metal roof. There is a matching red house with shingles piled over each other. Each shingle was discolored and raised at the edges, which even I can see needs to be replaced. The land was green and I'm talking a deep green that tells of rich soil. The opposite of the volcanic wasteland I had grown up in and realized, though I'd never admit it, that I liked the green.
