Scene 7

Alex wakes up in a prison cell, where she is being detained until her trial. She adheres to an orderly line with the other prison mates and marches down to the cafeteria. Alex is scared, but holds it together. Alone and afraid, a group of women pick a fight with her. Alex receives a severe beating before being rescued by another inmate – her mother. She and her mother finally get a chance to talk, and Alex cannot contain her emotions. She learns of her mother's tragic story and fills her mother in on some of her accomplishments.
