With their health deteriorating like the rest of the population, Alex and Milo muster the strength to endure and carry out their mission. After some hacking and a brief altercation with an onsite security guard, Alex and Milo obtain the equipment they need. Just as they are about to leave, they are confronted by a squad of guardians. With the fate of humanity resting on them avoiding capture, Alex and Milo head back into the Facility and lose the guardians in the labyrinth of hallways and rooms in the Facility – a place the two have spent their entire lives. In a fight between a lion and shark, the winner is determined by where the fight takes place, and Alex and Milo are in their elements. While hiding, Milo chooses this opportunity to inform Alex that he loves her. Alex is not in the mood to entertain that discussion, and quickly escorts Milo out a backdoor to safety.
