Riley's POV

I couldn't believe August had hit! I guess the old saying goes time flys when you're having fun is true.

Hayes and I were walking in the park when I mentioned I couldn't believe it was August. "I know. In a few weeks I have to go home." He sighed.

"What are we going to do?" I asked.

"I don't know." He answered. Silence passed. "Lets not worry about the future. Lets just live in the present." Hayes added. I nodded.

We walked for a few minutes, not saying anything. "You must miss your parents."

"Yeah. A bit. I miss the guys too." Hayes replied.

"I'm sorry." I apologized.

"For what?" He questioned.

"Being so selfish! Like I'm so worried about you leaving in a few weeks but I didn't even think about you! You already left your parents, and your friends for over 3 months! Hayes, I'm so sorry. I didn't even think about you." I explained.

"It's fine." Hayes shrugged.

"It must be tough." I said, trying to understand what it feels like.

"Yeah, but it's not like I'm completely on my own. I'm here with my brother and Cameron. It would be different if I weren't." Hayes told me. I nodded in agreement.

"Can I ask you something?" I asked Hayes.

"What?" He responded.

"Can we go do something else? I'm bored of walking and I'm pretty much dragging Gracie." I laughed.

"Yeah lets go." He said.

We walked back to my house and put Gracie away. "We should go to the beach! Please!" I whined.

Hayes sighed. "Okay.  Go get ready." He told me.

"Okay." I smiled. I ran up the stairs and got ready. I slipped on my new batman one piece swimsuit and a blue flowy tank top with jean shorts with stars on one side. I paired that with sandals with a circle design in the middle and a multi coloured tote to carry towels and my phone and all the other junk I have. "Ready!" I shouted as I ran downstairs.

"Okay." We then went to his house and Hayes got ready which took a lot less time then me. He grabbed his penny board and I hopped on my bike and we left for the beach.

I set my bike in the rack and ran down to the beach. "Come on!" I cried as I kicked off my sandals. I was already in the water by the time he made it down. "You're so slow!" I laughed.

"Sorry I'm so slow." Hayes apologized.

"You're lucky." I giggled.

"What am I so lucky for?" He questioned.

"You're lucky for me thinking you're cute." I explained. The day was beautiful. I splashed in the water, and suntanned on the beach.  We played beach volleyball, and ran around chasing each other. It was finally about dinnertime and I was hungry. "Hayes." I whined.

"What?" He asked.

"I'm hungry."

"Do you want to go eat?" Hayes asked.

"Duh!" I said.

"Alright sassy pants, no burgers for you." Hayes responded.

"BURGERS!" I shouted.

"Nope." Hayes smirked.

"But . . . Burgers?" I whimpered.

"Mmm . . . Maybe." He replied.
