*7 Months Later*
"Niall, why did you do this to me?" I moaned as the baby delivered yet another powerful kick to my abdomen.
Niall chuckled and handed me a glass of water. "Well, just remember that it'll all be worth it in a few months."
I grunted in agreement and gulped down my water greedily. I wiped off my mouth with the back of my hand. "Thanks babe." I said, smiling at Niall. He leaned in and gave me a soft kiss. It was awkward though, as he had to lean around my swelling stomach.
It was massive. I didn't think it would be this big, but I guess I was wrong. It weighed a ton too, and I had gotten used to balancing on the heels of my feet when walking. I caressed my stomach softly and sighed. This baby was going to be amazing, no doubt, but why did it have to kick so much?
"What's wrong princess?" Niall asked, smiling. I gave him a crooked smile in return.
"Nothing, just thinking." I said, patting my basket ball sized tummy.
Niall shook his head but smiled. "You know what I was thinking?" he asked, picking a piece of invisible lint off his shirt.
"What?" I asked him.
He grinned."We haven't even started shopping for the poor baby yet!"
My eyes widened. We were three months away from the birth of our first child and we haven't begun shopping? "Oh my, you're right!" I said, shocked. Niall chuckled at my expression, sending a blush to my face. "Shu'up." I mumbled, embarrassed.
Niall grabbed my hand and ran his thumb in soothing circles along the back of it. "Don't worry." He said softly, his warm voice shooting tingles through my body. "We'll start shopping soon, I promise."
I nodded. "I know, I wasn't worried. We can handle everything, right?" I grinned.
Niall nodded and leaned in for a kiss. "Sure can." he whispered, a mere centimeter from my lips. I smiled and was about to close that small gap, when the door slammed open.
"Niall, you've already got her knocked up, can you keep your hands off her for a few seconds!" Darcy rolled her eyes, grinning and set down some grocery bags. Maddie was close on her heels, smiling sheepishly.
"Being preggo, I think you're probably hungry, right bitch?" she said, sliding the bag over to me. I rolled my eyes and took the bag. I pulled out doughnuts, and raised an eyebrow at her. Her eyes widened and she leaned over and swiped the doughy delicacies from my hands.
"Woah! Those are mine!" she said, tearing into the packaging.
I rolled my eyes and pulled out a package of chips, a six pack of cola, as well as some assorted bags of sweets. I grinned and tore into the chips. Niall took a seat beside me and thrust his hand into the bag. He pulled out a handful of the salt and vinegar chips and shoved them into his mouth. I grinned at him stuffing his adorable face. He just smiled at me, revealing chip coated teeth. I scrunched up my nose, and giggled. Niall chuckled too, and grabbed the bag.
I rolled my eyes at his installable hunger. I grabbed a bag of Haribo sweets and tore through the plastic package.
It let out a lout rip, and suddenly another person burst through the door. harry tumbled inside, and he sniffed the air like a bloodhound. "Where's my sweets?" he asked, turning to me. I rolled my eyes and tossed him the bag. He snatched it from midair and scootched beside Darcy. "You could hear the tear all the way from your room?" I asked, stunned.
Harry grinned and nodded vigourisly. "Maybe. But, it also may have been the fact that I texted him and said we got some and were heading here with candy, right Harry?" Darcy said, smirking.
Harry rolled his eyes. "Come on babe. I gotta keep up my superhero reputation around here!"
Maddie, who had been perched on the armrest beside me, chuckled. "Harry, you never had that reputation."
Ever since the wedding, Maddie had been my go to lady when ever I was in need of a friend. She always listened to me and gave me good advice, and managed to be super funny while doing so. She was always busy with Jess, but she had quit her job, claiming it was "just to much to handle", and moved into the same complex as us, after I convinced her to.
Harry rolled his eyes and leaned into Darcy's shoulder. "You thought I was a superhero, right babe?" he asked, making his green eyes wide and watery, in a puppy dog face.
Darcy giggled. "Of course Haz." she said, leaning down and giving him a quick kiss. He smiled and went back to eating his candy.
We all ate in silence, other the the occasional question as to weather they could have a soda. The living room was crowded with everyone in here, and it felt stuffy. I pushed myself off the couch and began to waddle over to the window, nearly tripping over Harry's long legs. I opened the window, and felt better as a rush of cold
I felt Niall wrap his arms around my swollen stomach. "Mattie, you could've just told me to open the window." he whispered into my ear, his stubble tickling the nape of my neck.
I sighed. "Just because I'm up the duff doesn't mean I'm in able to open windows Ni."
I felt Niall nodd. "But it's easier for me to open it. I don't need to wobble across the room."
I slapped his hand playfully, giggling. Niall chuckled and gave me a soft squeeze. His hands rested on my stomach, and just then, the baby decided to kick.
It felt like a flick on the side of my stomach, but on the inside. It was as though the baby was trying to tickle me.
Niall drew in a breath, awed. I giggled. "Get me every time." he chuckled. I nodded. Niall was totally in awe the first time I said I felt it kick, and when he felt it for himself, he had screamed. He was new to this, and more then a bit anxious, I could tell. Every time he felt it kick, he still gasped.
"You get used to it." I smiled.
Niall shook his head. "I can't get over the fact that that little baby is ours. The perfect blend of our DNA. Amazing."
I nodded. "It sure is. I can't wait 'till I pop this sucker outta here and we can say it to its face."
Niall nodded and chuckled at my choice of words. "Now go and sit, or your feet'll get sore." I nodded and turned to move back. I stumbled around every ones feet and flopped onto the couch. Niall began to follow me, but he wasn't as careful.
Niall's toe hit the base of Harry's shoe. He stumbled a little, before tumbling onto the floor. I giggled at his spread eagle position. Niall sat up and shook his head. "Holy cow!" he grumbled. I covered my mouth, but my shoulders still shook in silent laughter.
Niall stood up and sat beside me, still muttering quietly.
"What are you muttering about honey?" I asked, grabbing his hand. He turned to me, and his eyes were dead serious.
"Mattie, we've gotta move. ASAP."
