"Girls, call Niall. My water's broken."

Darcys jaw dropped, as did El's and Perrie's. Cadet was running circles around me, whining and letting out yipps every few seconds.

"Your water broke?" Hailey asked, eyes wide. I turned to her. She looked scared out her wits. Often she acted like a six-year-old, and it usually slipped my mind that she was almost thirteen.

I couldn't really bend down, so rather, I bent slightly at the knee and looked down at her. "Yeah, my water's broke." Then it actually clicked in my mind.

My water broke. I was about to give birth to my babies.

"Niall?" Darcy said into her cell. I turned to her, watching their conversation.

"Yeah, she's right here. She has... some news." Darcy said, and with trembling hands, handed the phone to me.

"Mattie? Are you alright? I'm at the studio, Darcy wouldn't tell me what happened! I'm quite worried-"

"Niall, baby, hush." I soothed. I felt a slight cramp in my abdomen still, and I rubbed it irritably.

"Mattie, are you alright?" he said, calming down. His Irish accent flowed through the receiver, calming me down slightly.

"Niall, baby, my water broke." I said.

The line was silent for a few seconds, before I heard a loud bang through the reciver.

I flinched a little. "Nial?" I said caustiously.

"Fuck." Nall muttered, making me smile a little. Even when I'm gushing water, Niall can make me smile. How about that?

"Mattie?" Niall said quietly.

"Yeah?"

"You better not be kidding." he said. I could tell he was only slightly joking.

"Niall, the growing pool of water on the floor proves that I am not kidding whatsoever." I said, smiling slightly.

"Ah, shit. Alright, go to the hospital right now. I'll meet you there. Hold on, Nialler's coming!"

I laughed slightly at that, and through the reciever I could hear Niall faintly yell to the boys I'm asuming "Mattie's water broke! I'm going to be a daddy!"

I tapped the end button and handed the phone to Darcy. "Erm, thanks." I said.

"Well... what now?" El asked.

Us girls exchanges unknowing glances.

"Hospital?" Maddie said quietly.

"Hospital." I confirmed.

"I'll get towels!"

"I'll pull up the car!"

"I need to go pack." I said, turning to the doorway.

"Woah woah woah woah. woah." Darcy said. "No way. Get in the car. You're probably in pain right now."

I shook my head. "No, I'm fine. It just feels like I'm peeing my pants." I laughed, trying to lighten the mood.

Darcy furrowed her brow. "Aren't you supposed to be worried? Scared? Nervous?" she asked. I could see fear, uncertainty lacing her eyes.

I laughed, but it sounded forced, even to me. "Darce, I've been mentally preparing myself for this for the past nine months. I really don't know what to expect, and I am scared shitless, believe me. But the worst thing to do right now is freak out." I explained.

Darcy nodded, sighing. "I guess that makes sense. But please, hurry up. We've got to get to the hospital."

I nodded, and spun on my heel, headed to the bedroom.

I hardly made it two feet before they began. A contraction.

At first, I didn't even notice. It was like pressure had been slowly building in my abdomen for the past few days, but it was so slow that I hardly noticed. Sure, there was the dayswhen I would wake up and the pressure was iek a had to wee but had been holding it for hours, but I just assumed that that was normal, not the beginning stages of contractions.

It was like a cramp, slowly stretching along the underside of my belly, tendrils of pain seeking my nerves. I didn't even notice it until about half of my abdomen was aching. I grabbed my lower stomach and grimaced. The pain slowly grew, throbbing, burning. I whimpered, fisting the material of my shirt between my fingers. I grit my teeth against the burning pain, and within an instant, it was gone, replaced by a cool relief.

I gasped. How did the pain just disapear like that? However it happened, I was grateful.

Speeding down to the bedroom, I proceeded to pack as fast as possible, before I could feel any more pain.

*Niall's POV*

I hung up on Mattie and instantly dropped my guitar. I ran a hand through my hair. "Oh my god, what do I do!" I asked the lads.

"Get to the hospital mate!" Liam said, pointing to the door.

"I'm going with him." Hary said, jumping up and running to my side. I smiled at him kindly.

"Me too."

"Same here."

"Of course."

I smiled weakly at them. "Thanks lads. Let's get the van."

I turned, desperate to escape the almost claustrophobic confines of the studio. I was dying to go, see my wife, and help her welcome our beautiful children into the world.

"Where are you going?"

I groaned inwardly. The amazing Don, of Modest! Management. He had insisted that he needed to be present during recording, supervise us as we sang.

Tub of lard.

"Mattie's in labour." I said quickly, desperate to go as fast as possible.

"Who?"

"My wife." I said, rolling my eyes at him.

He snorted, sipping his precious coke. "Mmhm. Nope. No can do Nick."

"It's Niall."

"Whatever."

I sighed. "Don, it's my first children we're talking about! I need to go!"

Don wobbled to his feet, pot belly providing over his trousers. "No Neil. We're already behind in recording, and you need to finish the album before Christmas."

Anger surged in me. "No! You don't own me! I'm going to the goddamn hospital, wether you like it or not. I love my job, and all the people who helped me get here, but my family is my first priority, and it always will be!" I fumed, slamming my hands on my thighs.

Don snorted. "Without your Management, you wouldn't have the money to afford that precious family."

"Without us," I said, gesturing tote boys behind me. "You wouldn't have a job."

"I have tons of money that I made off of you rats. I could do anything I want without you!" He sneered.

I smirked. "We'll then, go on and do anything you want. You're fired."

Don paled. "You-you can't fire me!" His voice trembled, making me smirk. So much for being courageous.

"Watch me." I said, turning to the door. As a final goodbye, I flipped him off over my shoulder as I departed.

I threw the door open and bolted down the hall, the boys hot on my heels. I skidded down the hall, wheeled around a corner, and was outside in six seconds flat.

The boys came up behind me, panting.

"Holy." pant. "Fucking." pant. "Shit that was awesome!" Louis said, a smile lighting up his face. I laughed, before returning to the task at hand.

"Lou, pull up the van. I've got a baby on the way."
