I poured my tea into my mug and looked out the window over the sink. The rain pounded the grass, dark clouds made it seem dark out, even through it was nine in the morning.
Nialls arms wrapped around my waist, and he rested his chin on my left shoulder. I turned to look at him. He had a dopey smile on his face, his eyes closed. I laughed, and his one eye popped open to look at me. "What's so funny love?" He asked.
I shook my head. "Nothing, you just looked silly." I giggled. Niall shook his head, a smile on his face. We watched the rain for a few minutes longer, before he brushed my hair to my right shoulder. His lips pressed softly to the sensitive skin just below my jaw. I giggled at the sensation.
His lips fell away from my skin, and he licked them softly. "I'm sorry I've got to work today." he mumbled, his head falling onto my shouder once again.
I shrugged, being careful not to jostle his head too much. "It's fine, you're a working man. Working men've gotta work."
Niall laughed. "That's logical. I still feel bad though."
I rolled my eyes. " You're lucky you got yesterday off. You need to work, at least for a while."
Niall sighed. "Yeah, I guess. I guess I'm just worried, now that the due date's passed."
I turned to him, a slight smile playing on my face. "Why's that?" I asked, my eyebrow raised.
Niall grinned at my expression. "I don't know, it's just that now that it's passed, I feel like it's going to be any second now."
I laughed, but clutched my stomach. "Oh, oh my god, ow!" I said, my face contorted. Niall instantly got off my shoulder, and turned to look at me.
"Mattie?" he asked, his face questioning.
I squeezed my eyes shut, clutching onto my stomach. "Niall, baby, I-I think I'm in labor."
Niall instantly spun me around by the shoulders. His azure orbs were wide, looking into my green ones with such intensity that I thought I would melt.
"Wait, are you joking? Are you fucking kidding me right now?" He began running around the room, hands flailing everywhere. "Oh my god, oh my god, what do I do! What now? Now that it actually happens, my mind goes blank. Oh shit, this is bad, what-"
I began cracking up, my laughter coming out in snorts. Niall stopped mid-rant, and shot me a did-you-really-just-do-that look. I laughed louder at his expression, doubling over. I clutched my stomach, hardly able to speak. "Y-you actually th-thought tha-" More laughter. " That I-I was in labour?" I laughed even more.
Niall's face turned beet red. "Yeah, yeah, yeah." He rolled his eyes. "What can I say? You're a good actress!" he said, a crooked smile on his lips.
I shook my head, grinning. "Being a kiss-ass won't help you." I joked, grinning. Niall stepped closer to me, cerulean eyes sparkling. "How about I don't kiss ass..." He said, resting his fingers on my chin. He tilted it up so my face was angled tohis. "But rather, kiss this."
He leaned down, and placed his lips on mine softly. We never kissed, but our lips continually brushed. A chuckle rumbled through Nialls lips, and I grinned. "Don't tease me Horan." He growled.
I smiled. "Wouldn't dream of it."
He leaned down further, kissing me properly now. Every kiss we shared was better than the last, and by now I didn't know how they could improve any more. All mu muscles relaxed, and I felt like I was floating on air. By just placing his lips on mine, he made me feel uplifted and assured, protected and loved. It was heaven.
