I opened my eye and groaned. I had decided to take a nap as last night Niall decided it was a "great idea" to let Cadet cuddle with us, and I could hardly sleep due to his constant wiggling and licking. my toes were frozen, as the blanket had fallen off, but my nap did help to clear my mind a little. I looked out the window and sighed. Heat was was beginning to scortch the ground, although it was only mid-July.

I peeled off the blanket and tossed it onto the bed. I stepped out of the bed and slipped my feet into fuzzy slippers. The fluffy interior instantly warmed my feet, and I shivered.

I swung open the door, and it silently opened into the hall. I padded down it, listening for Niall.

I heard a small yip, and Niall's signature chuckle. "Hold still! Stop squirming!" he said. "Mattie's sleeping. Don't make Mommy cross Caddy." Niall cooed. I heard a small scuffle, and suddenly, a little ball of black shot into the hall and was barreling towards me. I bent down, and Cadet leapt into my arms, wiggling and wagging his tail. I giggled and stood up, Cadet still in my arms, and that was when I realized he had a diaper stuck to his butt.

I walked into the living room and found Niall siting on the floor, closing up a box of diapers. I stood silently in the doorway for a few moments before Niall realized I stood there.

He jumped up and blushed. "Oh, um... I was just-"

I held up the diaper attached to Cadet's butt. Niall's eyes widened, and his cheeks glowed brighter. "Oh. How did that get there?" he said, scratching the nape of his neck. I rolled my eyes and handed Cadet over to him. "What were you doing anyway?" I asked. "I gotta practice diaper changing sometime.' Niall said, rolling his eyes. I giggled and rolled my eyes. Niall clutched Cadet's little paws and grinned. "Aw caddy, did we wake up Mama?" He cooed in a high pitched puppy voice. I giggled at his childish voice, and Niall set down Cadet. Cadet raced around in circles on the floor, before flopping down on my feet and panting happily.

I "aww"ed softly, and Niall chuckled. "Adorable, isn't he?" he grinned.

"How do you know he's a he?"

"I took him for a wizz while you were napping. Trust me, he's a guy."

I laughed out loud, but I could tell by his face that he was dead serious. Once I had stopped giggling, Niall bent down and scooped Cadet into his arms. "You know, we've gotta go shopping for him."

"What does he need?" I asked, scratching behind his ears.

Niall shrugged. "Doggie stuff."

"Doggie stuff?"

"Food bowls, shampoo, treats, poop bags, a leash- I had a lot of weird looks walking him with a shoelace,- and a collar."

I nodded and smiled. "Ok, I'll go shower quickly and we can go, alright?" I said, turning.

Niall wrapped his arms around my bulging stomach. "Take your time. " he whispered, his lips grazing down my neck, causing shivers to crawl down my spine. I giggled before continuing to the bathroom.

"Niall, just because you're Irish doesn't mean Cadet must have a green collar by law."

Niall shoo his head. "True, but I'm Irish, you're my wife, therfore, you're Irish too. And so is Cadet." He smiled, patting Cadet's head.

I shook my head, giggling. "So?"

"So, he must have a green collar!"

I laughed lightly. "Yeah, but don't you think the lime green is a little bright?"
