**Author's Note**   DISCLAIMER:  I do not own the song, 'Scarborough Faire' by Simon and Garfunkel.  I chosen this song because I absolutely love this song, and I can imagine Thorin singing this (especially accompanied by harp).

Nobody's POV;

   Dwalin came down from his room, and he noticed that Nattie was not sitting at the table. "Nattie? Where are you at?" Dwalin called out.   As Dwalin scanned around the room for the dwarf woman, he saw something that caught his attention, something that surprised him, but also angered him. He found Thorin with Tabitha, as they are now kissing, their lips locked in deep, fiery passion.  "THORIN!" bellowed Dwalin as he darted towards the couple.  The two quickly stopped kissing, as Thorin and Tabitha turned their attention to the Dwarf. "Who in Durin's name are you?" asked Thorin. "Thorin, what are you doing? You ought to know who I am! I'm your best friend, Dwalin! How can you not know me?!" snapped Dwalin.  "I'm sorry, but I do not know anyone by that name. Now if you must excuse me, I'm busy with my Tabitha!" said Thorin.  "YOUR TABITHA?!!" bellowed Dwalin anger.  The Dwarf wanted to throttle Thorin.  Dwalin didn't understand why Thorin is acting this way, and he knew something fishy is going on, and he wanted to get to the bottom of it.  Dwalin walked away as he approached some patrons and began asking them questions if the patrons had seen anything suspicious between Thorin and Tabitha.

  Finally one patron spoke up to Dwalin, and he told Dwalin he had witnessed Tabitha pouring some kind of substance in Thorin's drink.  When Dwalin heard this, this angered him.  And now he is ready to confront Tabitha of her horrendous actions.   After that,  Dwalin approached Thorin and Tabitha.  "Hey! Didn't we just tell you to leave us alone?!" snapped Tabitha.  "I'm not going to leave you alone, woman! Don't play dumb with me!! I know what yer up too!! You poisoned my friend with poisonous powder!!" shouted Dwalin angrily.  "WHAT?! I would never do such a thing!!" Tabitha shouted back. "LIAR!! Don't you lie to me woman!!" Dwalin screamed.  "What in the Valar's name is going on here?" shouted the Inn Keeper, as he came to find out what all the commotion is about.  All of a sudden, Thorin began to feel his body feeling weak, as he could see the room starting to spin.  All of sudden, the last thing he remembered, everything went black as he collapsed to the floor.

 "THORIN!" cried out Dwalin.  "He's poisoned! Take him to his room! Who is responsible for this!" demanded the Inn Keeper.  "This woman is responsible for the poisoning! She done it!" barked Dwalin angrily.  "FINE! If you must know, I poisoned him! I wanted him mine! He's mine, and nobody elses!!" screamed Tabitha.  "Listen, witch! He never loved you! He loved Nattie! You are doing this just to get back at Nattie! You just keep your treacherous ways away from my friend Nattie!" barked Dwalin.  "Don't worry, sir! She will be locked up right away! Just take your friend to his room, we'll send a healer right away!" said the Inn Keeper, and he was about to turn away, when Dwalin stopped him. "Wait! Can you tell me where my friend Nattie went? She has red hair, and wearing a green cloak!" asked Dwalin.  "I saw her storming out of here just earlier!" The Inn Keeper replied. "Please go find her!" said Dwalin.  The Inn Keeper nodded, and walked away as Dwalin picked up Thorin and carried him to his room, and laying him down on a bed, while he waited for a healer to arrive.

***************************************************************************************

 Later, the healer arrived with a powerful anecdote for the poison.  "How long will this anecdote will take affect?" asked Dwalin to the healer.  "It will take effect within an hour.  When it does, he will wake up, and he will be doing a little bit of throwing up! But make sure you bring him so water, when he gets done throwing up, he needs to drink the water to stay hydrated!"  The healer replied.  Dwalin nodded.  An hour passed, Thorin indeed had woken up, and he began throwing up right away in the wash room nearby.  While Thorin done that, Dwalin went to bring his friend some water to drink, when Thorin had finished.   Thorin sat down and drunk the water, as he turned his attention to Dwalin. "What happened? Why am I back in my room? What are you doing here, Dwalin?" asked Thorin. "First, you tell me why you left us without saying a word!" snapped Dwalin, sharply.   Thorin closed his eyes and sighed.

 "I wanted to go and find my father, and so far, no such luck.  I was going to head back home tonight, but I got delayed. But what happened?" asked Thorin.  "That bitch Tabitha poisoned your drink, Thorin!" said Dwalin. "WHAT?!" shouted Thorin.  "You heard me correctly, she poisoned you!" said Dwalin. "Where is she? I like to get my hands.."  began Thorin, angrily.  "And Thorin, not only she poisoned you, but you were kissing on her and hugging her, and dancing with her, and unfortunately Nattie saw you too! Nattie and I set out to find you, and of course we found you in the arms of Tabitha." said Dwalin.  Thorin groaned.  Thorin felt terrible, really terrible.   Thorin knew Nattie would never forgive him for this, ever, and his heart sank his thoughts immediately turned to Nattie.  "She hates me doesn't she?" asked Thorin, quietly.  "I don't know, lad, I haven't seen her. According to the Inn Keeper she had stepped outside!" said Dwalin.

 "I need to go find her and talk to her!" said Thorin, as he quickly stood up, when suddenly he felt Dwalin's hand on Thorin's shoulder. "No! You sit here, I'll go find her and bring her to you! You need to sit there, after what you had just been through!" said Dwalin.  "Fine!" grumbled Thorin, as he watched Dwalin leave the room.   Dwalin went downstairs, as he found the Inn Keeper speaking to Nattie, informing her everything that went on.  It seemed to Dwalin, as he noticed Nattie felt quite shocked and stunned on hearing what really had happened.  Suddenly, Nattie noticed Dwalin standing nearby. "Where is he? Is he awake?!" asked Nattie quickly. "Yes, Nattie! In fact, I just came down here to get you! Thorin wishes to speak to you!" said Dwalin. And Dwalin lead Nattie up to Thorin's room, as Nattie entered. "I'll just leave you two to chat!" said Dwalin, as he left, and he went to his own room, leaving Thorin and Nattie alone to talk.

 "Come here and sit by me, Nattie, I have a lot of explaining to do!" said Thorin.  "Damn straight you have a lot of explaining to do, Thorin! First tell me why you left without even telling us?!" demanded Nattie.  "Nattie, I'm sorry, I needed to do what I had to do, and I've decided to call off the search for my father!  And as for what happened earlier with Tabitha,  I'm sorry you had to see that!  I tried stopping her from talking to me, but she crossed the line when she poisoned me, Nattie! Please forgive me, imur! I'm really, truly sorry!" said Thorin.  Nattie sighed, as she sat down beside him.  "I forgive you Thorin! But please if you needed to go and get things done,  please inform us the next time!" said Nattie.  Thorin smiled, as he placed his hand on Nattie's cheek.  "And I shall!  Nattie, you are the only one I love,  I don't want no other! I hope you know that!" said Thorin.

  "I know that!" said Nattie as she kissed Thorin on the lips.  The kiss caused a tingling sensation up Thorin's spine,and Thorin felt the warmth in his heart growing again, as he quickly drew Nattie into his arms, and he locked his lips onto hers, with a much deeper and passionate kiss.  When the kiss broke, Nattie laid her head upon Thorin's chest, as Thorin gently began stroking her hair, as he first began to hum, and soon he started to sing.  And the song he sang to her, was one of Nattie's favorites as her mother had sung it to her when she was little, and it was a favorite by everyone, as Thorin started to sing *Scarborough Faire* softly, as he held her.   As he sang, Nattie closed her eyes, as her breathing slowed down, as she drifted off into a deep and peaceful slumber.
