Nattie could hear the voices of the dwarves rising and falling during the meeting, and during all the yelling, she could hear Thorin shouting at them, telling them to quiet down.  After the meeting had finally concluded, with a hobbit whom passed out on the floor, the dwarves dispersed throughout Bilbo's home, talking quietly among themselves.  Inside the home,  Thorin stood in the hallway alone, and Balin stood with him, as they watched the Hobbit go to bed.    "Looks like we lost our burglar! I suppose its for the best." sighed Balin.   "There are still warriors among us, Balin!" said Thorin. "Old warriors! Toymakers, miners, tinkers--we're only a stuff of legend! Thorin, you don't have to do this! We enjoyed the life we have already in the Blue Mountains!" said Balin.   "Balin, I have to do this, for all of us! There is no other choice!" said Thorin.  "All of us? Does that include Nattie as well?" spoke up Balin.

Thorin snarled, but didn't reply.  "Thorin, she loves you very much! She would never hurt you! And it really torn her up when you sent her away, and not only you done that, it brought back such horrible memories to her, because it wasn't the first time she had been banned from Ered Luin! It's time you sit down and talk with her, and work things out! And I know deep down inside you still care for her! Do you?" asked Balin.  Thorin closed his eyes, as he thought over the words his friend is telling him.  And the words also stung him, as reality had struck him, he indeed had caused a lot of harm to Nattie.  A single tear slid down Thorin's cheek as he stood there. "Laddie, are you alright?" asked Balin, as he noticed his friend's complete silence.   "What have I done, Balin? I feel like a monster of sending her away--I should have never became angry with her! I knew how skilled she is with making weapons-maybe I was just jealous, which is why I acted the way I did--and I should have never acted that way!" said Thorin.

"Go and find her, and speak to her!" said Balin.  "She will never forgive me, Balin--I've done a lot of wrong to her, and that wasn't my first time doing so. I don't deserve her, Balin!" said Thorin, his voice emotional.  "Don't say that, laddie! You do deserve her! But what is stopping you from her, is yourself, Thorin! It's your pride that is standing between you and Nattie." said Balin.  "You are right, Balin. I will go and talk to her!" said Thorin.  "She is still outside if you wish to know where she is at." said Balin. Thorin nodded.  And it didn't take long for Thorin to find Nattie, whom is still sitting outside on Bilbo's front porch on a bench. "Nattie?" spoke up the Dwarf, quietly. "What are you doing out here? Shouldn't you be inside planning the quest?" grumbled Nattie.  "Nattie, I came outto apologize for my actions towards tonight, and the way I treated you in the past! I was in the wrong of sending you away." said Thorin, quietly.

"Thorin, you have no idea how badly I am hurt after you banished me from Ered Luin, and how it brought back terrible memories for me! It's like I'm relieving my younger days all over again! That really hurt you know! And I'm not sure if I should forgive you for it!" said Nattie, as her tears began to form again. Hearing this, Thorin could feel as he had been stabbed in the chest.  "Nattie, I deserve the most severe punishment from you after the way I treated you, and even if you would never speak to me again, my heart and mind cannot go on, not without you in my life!" said Thorin quietly, and he slowly stood up.  "Remember, Nattie, I was angry a long time ago, but there wasn't a moment  in my day I would think of you, every night, hoping someday I would find you and bring you back in my life! Think it over, you have time!" said Thorin, and he walked back inside Bilbo's house, leaving Nattie in her thoughts. It shocked Nattie hearing those words from Thorin, and she could tell he really meant everything he said.  "Oh Thorin." said Nattie, and she stood up, as she decided to go back inside Bilbo's home.

Not long after Nattie entered the house, it took her by surprise that she could hear music coming from Bilbo's sitting room.  Nattie entered the sitting room, and she saw all the dwarves with their musical instruments out and playing. But that wasn't what caught Nattie's attention, however. She noticed Thorin sitting in the corner by the fireplace, holding his golden harp, the same golden harp that Nattie had brought him years ago, and he is playing it.  Nattie felt something tugging at her heart, as she stood and watched, and then suddenly soon as Thorin started to sing, she froze.  As Thorin began to sing, the other dwarves joined in with him, and she remembered the song well, as Thorin had sung this to Fili and Kili when they were young lads.

Far over the misty mountains cold

To dungeons deep and caverns old

We must away, ere break of day

To find our long-forgotten gold

The pines were roaring on the height

The winds were moaning in the night

The Fire is red, it flaming spread

The trees like torches, blazed with light.

And as Thorin and the Dwarves sang,  Nattie openly wept, thinking of her past, of her first arrival in Ered Luin, being forced to move, and then her encounter with her father, and then her brief stay in Erebor, as all these memories had hit her at once.    Nattie prayed that none of the dwarves would see her in this state, and she definitely didn't want to see Thorin to see her like this.   But the song soon ended, and the dwarves went to bed, however, leaving only her awake and Thorin awake as well, and Thorin noticed Nattie had been crying.  "Nattie, you've been crying! Are you alright!" spoke up Thorin gently as he approached her.  "Its just that so many memories came back to me, Thorin! That's all!" choked Nattie.  "Come here!" said Thorin, as he sat cross legged on the floor, gesturing her to sit on his lap.  And so Nattie sat down on Thorin's lap, leaning back against his chest.  "Just remember, you have a family--a family right here that loves you! And I love you, Nattie!" Thorin whispered to Nattie.

Nattie looked at Thorin. "You love me?" asked Nattie.   Thorin placed his hand on Nattie's cheek. "Of course, I love you, Nattie!" said Thorin.  "Thorin!" said Nattie, and she leaned against Thorin's forehead.   "I love you, Nattie!" whispered Thorin. "I love you too, Thorin!" Nattie whispered back, as Thorin pulled her into his arms, holding her close to his chest.  Thorin soon shortly leaned in towards her, and kissed her on the lips, passionately.  When their kiss broke, Thorin cupped her chin, where Nattie now is looking into Thorin's eyes. "Say you come with us! Because you and I will enter Erebor together, as King and Queen!" Thorin whispered. "Of course I'll come with you!" said Nattie, as she lay her head upon his chest.  What the two of them didn't know was that they had been watched, by Fili and Kili, whom was going to walk back into the sitting room to wish Thorin good night.  When they looked into the sitting room and saw Thorin holding Nattie in his arms, they smiled. "We have to tell the others tomorrow that they made up!" said Fili, grinning. "Absolutely!" said Kili.
