A day had passed, and the Enemy had arrived in Dale, reaching the Lonely Mountain, as Thorin led his Company to war, with the aid of the elves, men, and Lord Dain and his Dwarves.  Unfortunately Nattie, whom is still healing, had to sit out of the battle, and she had to stay within the mountain.  And it was Thorin whom had chosen Balin and Tauriel to keep Nattie Company. And it didn't take long for Bilbo to join them later on, which took Balin by surprise.  "I am not giving up on Thorin! I've done him a huge favor of ridding the Arkenstone." said Bilbo, sitting with Nattie, Balin and Tauriel. "Laddie, you done the right thing of doing so--but Nattie really wished it to be destroyed. That's what I would have done myself!" said Balin.   "Maybe we can convince Bard of getting back, so we can destroy it! But we'll wait until the Battle has ended. I was hoping to go into Battle with the others." sighed Nattie sadly.

"I know Lassie, but you have too many injuries that still need healing, counting your miscarriage." said Balin.   Several hours had went by,   the battle pressed on, as the small group hadn't heard any reports from the war.  However, Bard had came in to check on Nattie, giving his reports.  "Have you heard any news from Thorin?" asked Nattie.  Bard bowed his head gravely.  "I'm sorry, Nattie--we have not seen Thorin or his company since the Battle had started. However, I had overheard Master Gandalf stating that they went to Ravenhill to face Azog." replied Bard.   Nattie had felt dread in her heart at the thought of Thorin and his nephews facing Azog, and she felt worried how it would end.  Balin noticed Nattie's distress, as he took her hand gently.      Several hours went by, and still the group haven't heard anything.  Shortly, Tauriel spoke up.  "How about if I go down to the encampment and find out myself?" asked Tauriel.  But no soon as she said that, Legolas came running in.

"Prince Legolas!" exclaimed Nattie.  "I have some grave news--the Battle is over, and we have won, yes--but there many wounded and casualties---and, Nattie, Lord Thorin and his nephews are one of them, they are in the healing tents as we speak--and I hate to say this, but they have no much time left in this world!" said the Elf Prince gravely. "NO!" cried out Nattie.  "Thorin wishes to see you and Mister Baggins immediately!" Legolas continued.  Nattie quickly hopped out of bed, and she got dressed. "We'll go with you!" said Tauriel, and Balin nodded.  And so they quickly made way to the tents.  Nattie noticed that Fili and Kili were in a seperate tent from Thorin's.  Nattie and Bilbo entered, and they saw Thorin in his cotton, all bandaged up, and his features pale, very pale, as the dwarf had been struggling to breathe.  "I wish to speak to the Halfling first." said Thorin weakly.  Nattie nodded, as she stepped out of Thorin's tent, allow the Dwarf and Hobbit to speak in private.

Shortly, Bilbo came out of the tent, weeping hysterically.  Nattie closed her eyes, as she knew what this meant.  Please don't let me be too late! Nattie prayed, as she slowly entered the tent.  Once she did, she could see that Thorin is still awake, but had difficulty keeping his eyes open. "Nattie--I'm so--so sorry!" began Thorin weakly.  "Thorin!" cried out Nattie, as she ran towards the bed. "Nat, I'm afraid we cannot get married--but-I will never forget you--and all that you done for me and my kin!" said Thorin, and then he began to cough.  "No, don't you die on me, Thorin! Don't you dare leave me!" sobbed Nattie.  "Nat--I'm sorry, but my body is torn from battle--I no longer have strength to--coughs--survive!" continued Thorin. "Listen to me, Thorin! I will send the elves to heal you, even I will get Tauriel to heal you! You are not going anywhere!" said Nattie firmly.  "The elves had tried, Nattie-it's behind their control now! Goodbye, imur! Until we meet again!" said Thorin softly, and he closed his eyes. "Thorin!" sobbed Nattie.   But Thorin didn't reply, as life faded from him, and he stopped breathing.  Nattie screamed, as she clung onto her Dwarf King, weeping hysterically.  Balin and the rest of the Dwarves gathered around Nattie,  as Dwalin and Balin pulled Nattie away from him.  Dain and a few dwarves covered up Thorin  in a blanket, while Dwalin and Balin led Nattie out of the tent.
