"Hey guys!" Eli shouted from across the building, the sound echoing around the room.
Everyone jumped up from their beds and ran over to him. We always got our hopes up when someone shouted like this, thinking we were free.
"I found a tub of chalks!" He shouted again before we had gotten to him.
He looked so excited. I saw him smile for the first time, all his teeth on display.
I ran over to him, inspecting the tub of chalk he clung onto.
It was one of the kids jumbo tubs we had in school. Why had they been left here?
"Cool," Bella said as she walked away from us after inspecting the tub.
"Bella don't you want to draw with us?" Eli innocently asked.
She didn't reply.
Dylan's eyes lit up when he saw them. Art was were he found his peaceful place, his happiness. He was good too. Incredible.
" Why don't we each take a part of the wall then?" Dylan asked everyone drawing their attention back to the chalk.
"To draw what?" Alexis asked.
"Anything."
I began doodling on the wall, there were no hidden meanings to them they were just a way to past the time.
We all drew in silence for what seemed like hours
------
We all stood starting at the masterpiece before us. There were no words to describe the raw beauty and pain of it.
Eight children, angles covered in blood helplessly being chased by a large hand.
Each one of us were captured in such detail, each of our tiny unique flaws highlighted. Dylan and I were at the front of the group running hand in hand. The others all followed behind.Underneath it said ' we know our monsters but do you know yours?' In a deep red liquid which had to be blood.
I stepped forwards slightly to reach Dylan. I placed my small hand in his lightly.
"Do you like it?" he asked after the others had left.
I nodded. "I really do."
"We should head to bed, it's getting late," he muttered as he threw his lump of chalk back into the tub.
For once in my life i didn't complain about going to bed, it meant we were once day closer to this hell ending in one way or another.
"Night Blue," Dylan muttered as he turned on his side and switched off the last lamp.
"Night guys!" Christian yelled.
"Hope to see you all in the morning!" Bella yelled back.
I curled in next to Dylan.
"Shh... Blue it's OK i wont let any one hurt you," he whispered.
Bella was right, we didn't know when that man was going to come back.
"Can we leave a lamp on please," one of the twins asked quietly.
"Yeah sure," Dylan replied as he leaned over to switch his lamp back on.
As much as i didn't want to shut my eyes, sleep finally took over.

Marks pov;
I raced up the road towards the warehouse, my little red van starting to struggle on the hill. I had chosen the perfect location, the perfect weapons and the perfect victims.
My last piece of the puzzle was currently screaming in the back, her little legs kicking against the doors.
We were almost there now, she didn't have long left.
They were all connected in their parents failer to protect them.
I had left, three large sheets, a tub of chalk, enough water for five days and one knife. I guess you could call it a social experiment to see sheet they would do with these things.
My heart was starting to race, my palms sweating, beads of sweat forming in the creases of my forehead. These was going to be my last murders, i was too old to do this now.
As i turned the corner to the last stretch of road to the warehouse a set of flashing lights caught my eye.
Ten police cars with their sirens blazing and lights flashing chased me down the dirt track. My heart stopped, they had found me I needed to think fast and throw them off.Quickly I swerved into one of the fields on the side of the road. The weak wooden fence shattered as the van smashed threw it, splatters of mud flew up into the air; tires sliced through the mud. The chase was on. I forced the little red van to go faster, smashing through more and more fences destroying more and more crops. I had had the power, I was controlling where they were going. Suddenly i noticed the fields getting fewer and the more real roads were appearing. we were getting out of the countryside and heading for some major roads. I didn't know where we were going but main roads seemed like a bad idea.
The police cars were getting closer, the girls screams getting louder, my head pounding harder.
I needed to give up.
I slammed my foot on the break. The girl in the back screeched as her frail body was thrown to the back of the van, her head hitting the metal, her body going limp.
Withing seconds there were men with guns screaming orders at me, forcing me out of the van.
Those children were never going to be found. The only question was; who was going to kill who first?
---------------------------------
So now we know the man is called Mark but will the police ever find the children, and how many will get out alive?
