Zira managed to get up once they left out, falling to the ground. She pushed herself up, trying to escape.
Eventually, she did get out. This wasn't easy though. She kept falling over, not being able to walk, and having to lean against things, hoping she wouldn't fall when she couldn't.
By the time she got to where someone might hear her if she were to yell for help, she was exhausted. Finally, she collapsed, without getting up. "Help! Someone!"
Nothing, just the echo of her own voice.
---
Al got very quiet when he heard it. "Al, what is it?" Ed asked, looking at Al. "Did you hear that?"
They all listened carefully. "Help!!"
It was Zira's voice. "That's Zira!" Al exclaimed, running in the direction of her voice. They followed Al, occasionally stopping to listen for her.
By the time they found her, she was passed out because of exhaustion. Al picked her up carefully, looking her over, making sure she was okay except for her leg.
They rushed back, Ed calling Winry once they got there so they could get Zira some automail.
Winry agreed to bring some, and Ed thanked her. He went to see how Zira was, and, aside from her leg, she was fine. Just tired and hungry.
"Zira," Al said, shaking her slightly. She opened her eyes, looking up at all of them. Al sighed of relief, glad she was okay, as all of them were. Riza especially. Zira had protected her after all.
"Why did you protect me Zira?" Riza asked, when it was just the two in the room. "Because... I don't want to see anyone else die... Not if I can do anything about it.. Everyone deserves to live... No matter who they are..," Zira said.
Riza didn't know what to say about that really. "Well... Thank you..." "Don't thank me Lieutenant... I was glad to protect you..."
