How Could You?!

Zira stood in front of Scar yet again. "Scar, I'm going to turn you in if you don't stop this! I don't want to... But I don't want you killing anyone else either!"

"I'm not going to stop, Zira." "Scar, please... I don't want to have to turn you in!" Scar didn't reply.

Zira looked down, not saying anything else to him. She shook her head, like she was disappointed in Scar.

"Zira?!" A familiar voice exclaimed. Her eyes widened. "Oh no..."

She whipped around to see Alphonse, standing there with Ed, Roy, and Riza. Roy and Riza looked infuriated, while Ed and Al were simply shocked.

"What's going on here Zira?" Roy demanded. "I-I," Zira stuttered. Scar knew this would be bad, and he waited for the right moment to get out of there.

"Speak!" Roy yelled. Zira was frozen, right where she stood. "Well?!"

Zira knew they wouldn't be very understanding about the situation. She backed away from them, afraid of what they'd do. Roy was clearly prepared to snap, Riza prepared to shoot.

Al and Ed however, looked a little reluctant. They were friends with her after all. Very loud barks could be heard, as Lexi came running to her owner. She stood beside Zira, growling at Riza and Roy. "Down girl," Zira commanded. Lexi looked up at her, as if asking her what to do.

Zira held up a hand, telling Lexi to sit, which she did. "Explain what's going on here Zira!" Roy yelled. Zira looked at him, while Lexi would growl at them, then whine and growl again.

She was a very protective dog. Zira kept a hand on Lexi's hand, petting the dog as if letting her know it was okay.

Zira sighed. "Fine..." She knew she didn't really have the choice. Scar gave her a look, as if telling her to be quiet, knowing that they wouldn't take to kindly to it.

"I've known Scar's whereabouts and targets for a while now..," she began. They looked shocked, Ed and Al even more so than when they had originally seen her there with Scar. "But I didn't say anything..."

"Why not Zira?" Riza quizzed. "Because, I didn't want anything happening to Scar." "Why do you care what happens to Scar?" Roy questioned. "Because, I knew him for a while, my father was friends with him, so I eventually befriended him as well..."

Roy looked more angry than before. He understood not wanting someone you care about hurt, but also, had she said something, they probably could've prevented deaths.

That irritated him. She knew that but she still said nothing. Roy said nothing. His face said it all.

"How could you have kept that to yourself, knowing people were going to die?!" Riza yelled. She was infuriated.

Zira clenched her hands into fists. This was a bit surprising. She was typically annoyed by what Roy and/or Riza had to say, but she had never shown it. She always just nodded or shook her head and then walked away. This was different. "She's right Zira, you-" "You two shouldn't really talk, should you?" Zira snapped.

This took Roy and Riza back. Zira looked at them, and now, there were tears in her eyes. "Remember Ishval?"

Normally Zira wouldn't make such a statement, but this was a different situation. It made her beyond infuriated... They had killed so many people in Ishval, and yet they were acting this way towards her...

Zira looked dead at Riza. She was especially mad at her. Zira looked like she might use her alchemy against Riza she was so mad, but she wasn't going to. Roy however quickly took action, snapping. This gave both Zira and Scar barely enough time to dodge, but they did.

Zira's eyes were wide as she watched the flames shoot past her and towards Scar as he dodged it. After Ishval, she was quite afraid of fire... It reminded her of everything that happened. Everything was on fire, people were lifeless on the ground...

"Colonel!" Ed and Al yelled after he snapped. They were a little unsure of what to do. However, in all of the fuss, Scar had grabbed Zira's arm, pulling her with him as he ran.

"Scar, stop!" She demanded. "No, you got into this mess because of me and I'm about to get you out of it."

"It's my fault Scar! It's my own fault so let go!" He didn't listen. Both wanted the other to be okay. After all, they were kind of like family... Scar's family had been the only family that Leo and Zira really had...

Lexi was running alongside Zira, practically leaping with her long legs.

Ed and Al had gone after the two Ishvalans, knowing Roy and Riza might actually try attacking at least one of them. They knew that they needed to find out more about this before they attacked. However, the two Ishvalans were too fast, and even Lexi couldn't be caught up to at this point. "They're really fast," Al stated.

"Yeah, no kidding, then again I wouldn't want to be incinerated either," Ed replied. "ZIRA! SCAR! STOP!" Al began yelling. They didn't even slow down.

Soon enough, Ed and Al had to stop, knowing they wouldn't catch up anytime soon...

"I guess we'll have to wait to get answers..." Ed looked at his younger brother, who looked at him with worry...
