Chapter 17 ~ Special Powers Discovered. .

Eric's POV

I slam the book in my hand on table and growl in frustration, racking my hand through my hair.

It's been two days since the incident at the hotel and we still havent found anything. No trace of that person. No scent, no clue, nothing! It's downright frustating to have no clue about it.

That day after it happened, we left immediately, paying for our bill and leaving those delicious deserts untouched.

For two days I haven't let Tori go out without someone who I trust accompanying her.

There are strict orders to be on a look out if anybody finds anything suspicious around the pack grounds and also to be careful. We never know what that person might do. And we certainly dont know what exactly he/she wants.

I was terrified that something might happen to her and it is not a good feeling at all. Obviously you are tensed when someone threatens your dear ones. My heart ache's even at the thought of something happening to her.

Also we still haven't found out about Tori's special powers and reasons about why she is so special.

Right now i'm in my office, finding about the Winged White wolf.

Numerous books from library are here but they have nothing about this written. Nothing close to it mentioned. Not even a clue, as if someone has purposely left anything related to the topic.

We are desperate for asnwers but nothing seems to help us. What are we supposed to do at such times?

I decided to call James for help. May be, he must be knowing something. I quickly pick my phone and dial his number.

"Hello James."

"Hey Eric, What's up?" He asked, and we didn't need to talk professionally since we are family.

"Actually I wanted to ask something. It's important."

"I know what you want to ask. It is about Tori, isn't it?"

"How do you know?" I asked suspiciously.

"Nothing, just a hunch. I have been trying to find info about it too and I have something useful and interesting."

"Well, when were going to tell us?"

"I was going to call you, but you called instead."

Then I explained to him what had happened, he freaked out at first but I told him I would take care of his sister. And told him it's risky talking on phone about all this matter, so I invited him here. For god knows that Mystery person might be tapping our phone calls.

I have been a paranoid because I dont want Tori going away from me. It will kill me if she wont be with me. Call me whipped, but this is what happens when you love the person.

My trail of thoughts were cut by Tori rushing in the office.

I immediately jumped up and went to her.

"What happened?" I asked worriedly.

"Eric! There's a fire in the kitchen. Not just small fire. The whole kitchen is burning and it is spreading rapidly! We need to do something before the whole house burns down." She said frantically.

I sprinted towards the kitchen area with Tori on my heels and the sight in front of me was a disaster. The kitchen, the room above it and the other area around kitchen was alight with fire.

Pack members were throwing water from big buckets but to no avail. The fire was spreading.

I couldn't let my pack members get hurt.

"Everybody! Out of the house, Now!" I commanded in my Alpha tone. No one needed to be told twice.

Everyone scurried out with their loved ones, crowding in the backyard.

"Call the fire Bridget, now." I said to Leo. To which he nodded & quickly took his phone out.

Right now, all we could do was watch our half of the house burn down to ashes. The house that had so many memories would burn down totally in minutes if nothing was done.

I turned to Tori only to find her gone.

Panic settled deep in my heart.

Eyes wide. Heart thumping fast.

I frantically started searching for her among the pack members but before I couldn't find her. Suddenly, the whole swimming pool water had flied out of it towards the fire hence putting the fire off.

Everyone gasped. Stepping back.

Shocked expression on each one of their faces.

Everyone turned their attention towards the swimming pool where Tori who was standing by the now empty swimming pool, breathing hard.

That was until... she fainted. But right before she could the touch the ground I caught her.

We were now in my office. Mom, dad, Leo & Layla were here with me.

Tori was sleeping in our room. Pack doctor said that she used a lot of energy in what she did so she needed rest and some healthy food after waking up. And she will be good to go.

Right now it was just, Silent.

Complete and utter silence.

That was all we could hear.

Everyone looking at each other. Not knowing what to say. Too shocked about the incident and in their own thoughts.

Nothing like this has happened before so the shock is obvious.

"Okay everyone, listen." I decided to break the silence.

"I called James today and he said that he has some useful information about Tori's wolf. So I called him here to talk about it and I want all of you guys present there."

"Ofcourse son. We will always support you." My dad said with mom nodding in agreement.

"And about today, i'll have the trackers find about how it happened." I said after which mom and dad left.

"Leo, I want you to take this matter in your hands and find the reason behind this sudden incident. You know what I mean." I said to him.

He nodded.

"Yes, I know you think it was all done by the same person who spoiled your date at the hotel." He said.

"Yes, and if that is so, I think we need to improve our patrol around pack grounds." I paused. "That bastard! How can someone can just trespass and burn half of my house!" I let my anger come out.

"I'll see to it Eric. Have faith in me. I will definitely find a clue."

I nodded, having nothing to say.

I was seething. The Alpha in me was angry that I couldn't protect my pack even though no one was hurt, there was an intruder.

I sat in my office for some more time, thinking.
