What do you mean you’re not single”, Don laughed at me. I shrugged. Where was I heading with this? Even for myself.

“What if I’m not?”, I repeated. Don was silent for a long time, just looking at me with this strange look. I think he was worried. Seconds passed. In the end I just shrugged once again.

“Of course you’re single!”, Don found it funny and looked at me like I had gone completely mental. I can’t tell you how mad it made me, and I chewed my lip slowly, hoping he would notice just how furious I was. He did, and his laugh died off. “You mean you’re seeing someone?”, he asked. More serious this time.

“I might”, I shrugged again. “It’s my business, not yours”.

“I might be my business Niall...”, now he was interested. I just stood up, and walked towards the door. Fortyfive minutes since we should have been on stage. “Niall”, he warned me from leaving. I had my hand on the handle.

“Better go interact with the fans”, I said snapped.

“So I’ll get to meet her?”, Don asked. I didn't reply. There wasn't even a 'her' to meet. “You better not be kidding around with this”. Don’s finger pointing at me was a bit threatening. “Niall?”.

“I’m not”, I said, turning away again. I just needed to get into that van.

“Better not. This is not over”, Don said. I was halfway out. “I want to meet this girl!”, he called after me. When the door smacked close I started running. Better be running to find myself a girl. Quick as hell.
