Niall:
“I still don’t get why we have to be here”, Zayn sighed, peeking up from his phone. That one leather chair in Don’s office was now accompanied by four more, and we all had our own. All five of us sitting in front of Don's desk. Don looked at Zayn.
“Because I told you to be here, that’s why”, he said. Zayn lifted his eyebrows, and went back to whatever he was doing on that phone. Louis’ head was hanging backwards like he was asleep.
“But it’s Niall that’s in trouble”, Harry mumbled under his breath. I kicked Harry’s leg as hard as I could, earning a punch in my arm from Louis. I was about to kick him too when...
“Stop it”, Don sighed, and started to rub his temples at our behavior. We’d been here for about thirty minutes already, and Don hadn’t even mentioned yesterday, which was a bad sign. He talked about the trip to America, and then he’d asked if I could tell my girlfriend to come over, which I had. And now we were waiting. Finally, there was a knock on the door. The secretary peeked inside at the six of us.
“She’s here”, she simply said, looking at Don. Don straightened up in his chair.
“Great, let her in". He looked at everyone but me. "Boys, you can go now...”, he said. The five of us shot up at the same time. “Not you Horan”, Don said, sending me a warning look. I couldn’t just put her on the spot like this again. I cleared my throat.
“I should probably go meet up with her”, I said. “She’s probably very nervous, since it’s the first time meeting you and all, properly anyway”. Don didn’t seem to think it was a good idea, but didn’t say anything when I left with the others.
“I still can’t believe you didn’t tell us about her”, Liam sighed, stuffing his hand in his pockets as we made our way to the lobby. I didn’t reply, just walking ahead of them, pretending I didn't hear. There she was, standing by the counter. And not alone either. Goddamn it! I should have told her to come alone. I knew she had told someone! Girls, they’re all the same. She’d seen me as well now, and stood very still next to her not so still friend.
“Good morning”, I greeted them, a smile tugging at the corner of my mouth. Had to work hard to make it that real. “Sorry to drag you down here this early”, I said, and took her hand. She resisted, but not too obvious. “And you are...”, I turned to Miss excited who grinned up at me.
“I’m Dawn”, she told me, shaking my hand. “Dawn Lewis, and I know who you are, you don’t need to tell me! You were so great last night, I loved the show!”.
“Thanks?”, I chuckled, finding it odd, but a little amusing. The lads were standing a few feet away, peeking at us now and then. The book girl, God, if I could just remember her name, let me hold her hand for so long, but she couldn’t hide the fact that she was even more furious than last night. “Look...”, I looked over Dawn, who’d spotted the lads now. “I and...”, I hesitated for a second.
“Sair”, Sair corrected me with a whisper. I didn’t care.
