Niall:

The interview passed smoothly all the way until there were just a few minutes left.

“So...”, Kirsten the interviewer seemed pleased with what she’d gotten so far, but of course she didn’t leave the girlfriend subject alone. “I can’t let you all go before asking about the pictures that were literally all over the world yesterday”. She looked at me, waiting for some kind of reaction. I just smiled. See sometimes being in a band with four other lads that love to see you sweat a little can be a bit of a problem. Especially in situations like this.

“Now Niall would love to explain that to you”, Louis grinned, patting my shoulder. “Wouldn’t you Niall?”.

“Cheers”, I chuckled, avoiding Louis’ smirk. I knew he wouldn't make it easy on me.

“Really?”, Kirsten looked at me from across the table. The other four boys were buzzing, finding it funny of course. “So you’d like to tell us who she is?”. There was expectation hanging thickly around the room. This was it, here went nothing...

“Ah, come on Nialler...”, Zayn nudged my shoulder. Kirsten laughed.

“Seems like these guys are more excited than you”, she joked. I let out a nervous giggle. Keep it together Niall, you can’t fuck this up now.

“She’s something special”, I grinned, swaying from side to side in my chair.

“Is she?”, Kirsten smiled, and I knew the subject was far from over.

“Just how special is she?”, Louis asked me, in that same tone of voice that he knew would drive me nuts.

“Are you blushing a little there Nialler?”, Liam teased, pinching my cheeks. They just wouldn’t leave me alone, would they?

“He is, isn’t he”, Harry chirped in.

“Aw, leave him alone”, Kirsten the interviewer took my side. “So she’s your girlfriend, that’s what you’re saying?”, she asked me. I swayed from side to side for a long while, a smug grin on my face. The other boys couldn’t hold their laughs back, but it only made it seem even more real. Kirsten waited. Finally I leant towards the microphone in front of me.

“Yes, that’s right”, I said. Everone in the room let go of the tension, but there were quite a few glances being exchanged.

“So you’ve known her for a while then?”.

“A little while, yes”. This was easier than I thought it would be. In the corner of my eye Liam raised his brows, probably surprised at how little of a fool I was making of myself.

“And how does she feel about making the front page?”, Kirsten laughed. I knew she was joking, but the sarcasm in my laugh wasn't easy to hide.

“She’s cool with it”, I shrugged. That was probably the biggest lie yet. “She’s just cool, you know”.

“Yeah?”, Kirsten the interviewer smiled at me. This was going a lot smoother than planned.  “So she went to see your concert?”.

“Yepp”, I said, and that wasn’t after all a lie.

“Is it hard for you all to spend time with girlfriends, friends, family?”, Kirsten directed the question to all of us now. But Louis had other plans.

“Yeah...”, he swayed on his chair, just like me, that twinkle in his eye still. “But you know, Niall’s really good at making time with his loveed ones you know?”. I wish I had something to hit him with. A brick would be perfect for example. Liam nodded as well.
