"You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams."
― Dr. Seuss
Chapter 19
My fingers felt like they were clutched around a hand, so warm and grazed by lips, so soft. My eyes were closed, seemed like they were for a long time. I gave myself time to breathe until my eyes fluttered open by the sound of heavy breathing by the figure next to me.
His eyes were practically piercing it's way through me all within the time his dimple dug into his cheek that fell into a dazzling smile.
"Tyler..." my pupils adjusted, only to realize how terribly wrong I was.
He cleared his throat,"No, not really," he said in an irritated tone.
"Oh, Alec, I thought..." I slipped my hand away from his grasp, with the energy I had.
"Seems like you really wanted him here," he muttered under his breathe.
"No, it's just--"
"Morning," he interrupted me with a greeting and rose from the wooden chair. I watched him as he walked over to my work table.
Then I realized where I was. My eyes roomed around the room, as I saw my posters of my favorite band, the Beatles. Along with my CD's of them lined on the shelf wall. I slow breathe escaped from me to finally understand why I'm here. Thousands of thoughts pored down on me like rain.
I looked Alec, who approached me with a cup of black coffee in a tray, full of my almost everyday breakfast menu.
"Here you go," he sang as I sat up and took the tray dropping it on my lap.
I smiled,"when did you get so nice," I teased.
"When you passed out over my amazing performance," he sighed sarcastically."Wish you could've have seen the rest," he pouted.
"What?" my eyebrows crunched into one line. I can't seem to recall exactly what happened. It never occurred to me that I'd actually pass out. "How long was I...?"
"Unconscious," he finished my sentence,"the whole night, also known as a good night sleep. Which you should be getting everyday," he narrowed his eyes playfully, pretending to be mad.
"Uh-huh" I smiled.
"You don't know what I'm talking about, do you?" He sighed and I snickered."You're neighborhood doctor came over and told us you knocked out 'due to stress'," he shook his head in disbelieve."What am I going to do with you, in no time I'll be getting a phone call saying you're dead because you slipped off my cousin's balcony"
"Why you're cousin's?" I tilted my head, laughing.
"Yeah, you're right, could be Tyler's" he muttered, looking down.
He hit his pockets, pretending like he didn't say anything at all. I saw his lips twitch.
My blood boiled."Excuse me--"
