"Can you feel
the new day rising
Climbing up the
East horizon
They can't hold us
Now we'll fight through
Each and everyone will start new." - Honor For All, Daniel Licht

Focusing on the small needle I held between my fingers, I carefully slid the dental wax into the small hole.

"You do this a lot?" His voice broke the silence, and the dental floss left the needle's hole.

I sighed, "Yeah. More than I care to." I narrowed my eyes at the needle, determined to get it through this time.

"Hmm," The kid hummed as he made his way across the room. If I hadn't seen him from the corner of my eye, I wouldn't have noticed that he was walking. He was very light on his feet which I thought was weird for a kid.

I pulled the dental floss through all the way, and bit the bottom of my lip as I removed the cloth I had wrapped around Zal's arm. I had managed to pull the bullet out and now all I needed to do was stitch her wound closed. What I wouldn't give for Elena to be here.

"So, kid, you have a name?" I asked as I set the needle down and took a clean pad of cotton and dipping it into some rubbing alcohol and pressing it onto Zal's shoulder. Her body flinched and she sucked in a short breath, but didn't wake up.

He didn't respond imeaditally, it was only until I tugged the needle through my sister's skin that he spoke up, "Dane."

Licking my lips, I slowly sewed up Zal, trying to be as careful as I could, "Alright, Dane, why were you there?"

"You think I'm going to tell you, a stranger, everything about me?" He was right behind me, looking over my shoulder, watching as I finished stitching Zalia shut.

Finishing, I took a pair of scissors and cut the extra string, then wrapping her shoulder up in gauze before turning over to look Dane in the face.

His green eyes studied my face as he took a step back. He was so small, maybe he was just a small kid, or he was younger than he seems. Most kids his age would be sobbing, wanting to see their parents. I know when I was his age, that's what I did.

Giving him a small smile, I responded, "I'm Kai, and the uncautious girl behind me is my sister Zal. See? We're not strangers anymore. So do you want to tell me why my uncle decided to not only kidnap his niece and nephew, but a regular kid too?"

Dane straightened himself, his eyes defiantly narrowing, "I'll tell you when I know the answer to that question."

I shrugged, "He kidnapped us because he thinks that Zal and I are a threat."

"Are you?" He asked, his voice was suspicious and he seemed to be challenging me.

I glanced down, I knitting my fingers together, and frowned a little, "Anything can be a threat if you fear it." I looked up to him, his cold stare seemed to burn into me.

Before he could comment, a groggily voice mumbled behind me, "Why's the brat still here?"

I turned around to see Zal yawning as she blinked her golden eyes, rubbing the sleep out of them, "You're awake!" I exclaimed, reaching for her to pull her into a hug.

She put her hands out, stopping me, "Nope. First we're taking these off." She gestured towards the medical bracelet circling her wrist. There was an electric blue liquid underneath the plastic. Erebus had put it on us when we had first arrived, making it easier to control us.

My sister and I may be gods, but there is no such thing as true immortality. And there is no such thing as true power. This liquid, the water from the River Styx, it can strip us of our powers.
