"Katy, where did you go last night?" Hazel's voice woke her from her sleep.
Katy rubbed her eyes and looked at Hazel standing over her with her hands on her hips.
"You had me worried you idiot! How did you get here? And where did you go?" Katy shuffled up the bed to sit up. Everything was a blur, she didn't know how she got home.
"I went looking for you and I couldn't find you so I went outside and that's the last I remember." Katy rubbed her aching head trying to remember what happened.
"Are you ok? I'm really sorry, I was trying to find you but some guy at the bar said you left already." Hazel sat at the end of the bed and offered Katy two painkillers and a bottle of water.
Katy took them slowly then reality hit her. "What happened with Harkin?"
Hazel shrugged and gave her a sympathetic look. "I left you both to talk and then you came down and told me we were going to Armour's instead." Katy grabbed her phone remembering he text her. Opening up the messages she took a deep breath.

Hey you're dad said you're at The Palace, I'll be there in 2mins x

Katy where are you? Can't find you and I'm getting sick of drinking x

Answer you're phone Kate! Please I need you right now x

I'm so sorry Katy please just answer x

I'm soreey she hear I cant jelp mysrlf

Katy tried holding back her tears, her face was burning, head was aching, and there was a lump feeling in her throat.
The other two texts were messages saying she missed calls from him. Why would he do this to her?
"What is it?" Hazel asked looking concerned. Katy handed her the phone with the messages still up on it.
"That ungrateful bastard! Come on we're going to his house!" Hazel stood up furiously. Katy shook her head and cried into the duvet. She doesn't even want to see him. Just because she wasn't around he went to Scarlette straight away!
"I just need to go home and sleep." She said swallowing her tears.
Hazel sat back down on the bed beside her nodding her head.
"Ok chicken fillet, I'll drive you home, get dressed and we'll go." Katy smiled at Hazel as she left the room.
Here comes all this heartache again. I should have never trusted him and welcomed him back into my life!

When Katy got home she had a shower got changed into her comfy sweatpants and Marc's jumper. Snuggling up to the already lit fire she thought about everything. The note Harkin had left her, the text messages, her mum and Marc, It all felt so painful.
"Cupcake your home." Tim walked in and sat on the chair opposite her.
"What's wrong?" He said placing a hand on her lap.
"Everything is, mum, Marc, Harkin, Scarlette. I just wish it would all disappear and not hurt anymore!" Her tears fell again and Tim was in front of her on his knees wiping them away.
"I know cupcake, sadly we can't just push it all away, it sticks with us and hurts us every time someone or something reminds us of them. Now tell me what's happened between you and Harkin, I thought you two were finally getting along."
Katy shook her head. Tim, her dad, was like her counsellor, he always made her feel comfortable enough to talk to and always made her feel better afterwards.
She explained everything which happened between Harkin and her over a cup of tea, Tim listened the whole time which made her feel relieved that he did care enough to listen to her shit.
"Look, guys aren't easy to understand, especially ones like Harkin. He told your mother and Marc that he only went with Scarlette to see if you got jealous and wanted him. I agree it wasn't the right thing to say but the guy has a lot going on in his head cupcake. I lash out on him when I'm drunk and the guy still stands by my side and helps me out. He's a good friend and he's wanted you for a long time. I don't agree with the way he's done things but hey he's human and not to mention a male one." This made Katy chuckle and she gave Tim a hug. So when Harkin said he could have handled things differently with her mum and Marc he was right.
"What should I do?" Katy asked while putting her cup on the table.
"Go and talk to him, he's a soft spot for you." Katy nodded and smiled. She wasn't going to bother getting changed, instead she just threw her hair up in a bun and headed to his.

You at home?

She text him hoping for a quick reply, but nothing. Katy sat in the car outside his house not wanting to just barge in and ask him things. After sitting there for 15minutes she decided she had to just walk up and knock.
Her heart was beating faster than ever and her hands were shaking.
Just knock Kate you can do it!
James opened the door and gave her a smile, "he's in the study." He said opening the door further so she could could go in.
James was Harkin's best friend, he was always in Harkin's house and was kinda like a butler for him.
He took Katy's jacket and pointed out the study to her.
Katy knocked on the door but got no answer, so she walked in. He must be sitting on the arm chair in front of the fireplace because there was no sign of him at the desk.
"Harkin?" He rose from the chair and turned to face her.
"Katy, what are you doing here?" He looked concerned. Harkin was dressed in joggers and a t-shirt, his hair wasn't gelled like usual and he looked rough.
Katy walked towards him, her throat felt so dry, "I wanted to talk to you." He moved around the chair and pulled another arm chair next to it.
"Please sit I'll get Odette to bring you a drink. Odette!!" An elderly looking woman opened the door and smiled at him.
"Could I get two teas please." She nodded and walked away. Katy sat in the arm chair he pulled aside for her and questioned herself about what to say to him.
"How was your head this morning?" He asked, taking the seat next to her.
The fires flames were high and was warming her up lovely. Katy kept her focus on the flames in the fireplace.
"It was sore, but my own fault. I woke up in Hazel's and she looked after me."
"I know I brought you there. You were so drunk Katy what were you thinking?" He brought me there! That's how I got back, but how did he know where I was?
"What was I thinking! You got off with Scarlette after promising me you were done with her!" Katy wasn't sure if it was the heat from the fire or her anger boiling which was warming her face.
She kept her eyes on Harkin seeing him look straight at her.
"I didn't get off with her, we made out, danced a bit then I found you."
"Correction I found you! And that still doesn't knock away the promise you made!" Harkin nodded and then Odette was back in the room placing a tray down between them both, with a tea pot, one teaspoon, two cups, a jug of milk and a sugar bowl.
"Thank you." He smiled at her and she left closing the door behind her.
Harkin blanked what Katy said and started pouring the tea. He handed Katy her cup and picked up his, sitting back on the armchair comfortably.
"Look I didn't come here to argue, I came here to talk and get answers. I read your texts and I'm sorry I didn't notice them sooner."
"I have to ask, what were you doing there anyway?"
"Trying to get Hazel's mind off a prick. I wasn't out there trying to pull."
Harkin chuckled a bit and nodded.
"What I did was wrong, I know that, but please understand I only went there looking for you. It will never happen again I promise."
Katy shook her head, he promised to never get involved with Scarlette again but that was broken last night. How was she meant to believe him now?
"Maybe we need a few days apart to think about things." Katy suggested.
Harkin's eyes darted to her and his lips sealed tightly.
"What if I can't?" He said with his eyes still focused on her.
"Just try, for me please." Harkin nodded agreeing with her. Katy stood up and gave him a slight smile.
"So until we meet again." She said putting out her hand for him to shake.
Harkin stood up and shook her hand, he wanted to say goodbye in a different way but if that's what will keep Katy happy then he'll do it.
Katy walked out and James gave her, her jacket. "See you later Hun." He said giving her a hug goodbye.
Once she got to the car she turned around once more to see if Harkin was there. He was, he gave a slight smile and wave. She didn't return the smile or wave, Katy just got in her car a drove away.
