"But daddy, I really don't want to be here any longer, please."
"Katy, the man invited us here to play and has payed us for it aswell, now please cupcake understand its out of respect."

She knew if she had one more drink that Mr O'neil would have an earful from her. Oh no he just has to walk this way doesn't he. Without a doubt he's handsome but why couldn't he be a bit more thoughtful. As Mr O'neil stood talking to his guests, Katy stood by the bar examining him. He had always had a tanned body and it was always toned, his black hair so neatly gelled up which made him look even taller which wasn't a good thing for Katy as the guy already towered over her. His dark grey suit really made his figure look outstanding. Just as her eyes dropped to his butt she could feel someone staring at her. Don't look straight up at him look along the floor until your not facing him, she thought. She pulled her gaze across the room and back to the bar, "did you get a good look?" Katy turned to see Mr. O'neil standing next to her...
She turned her back to him and hoped that would be the end of him making conversations with her.
"Look if you are mad at me, at least explain why!" Mr. O'neil sighed, he knew there was no talking to her, Katy was very stubborn when she wanted to be.
Katy wouldn't turn to face him, she knew if she did she would give in and get pulled in by his lies. Mr O'neil walked away to face the people who did want a conversation with him.
The night was getting more awkward for Katy the longer she stayed there, so she told Tim she was walking home so she could get the silence she needed to think, and without arguing he let her be.
The walk home was brilliant, She thought, she was able to just relax and think about everything which would've happened if she stayed there.
Home seemed like a safety net right now to Katy. She changed into the comfort of her sweatpants, vest and fluffy socks. She slouched on the couch in front of the fire with a cup of tea in her hand and started to think about tonight. Maybe she was too harsh on Mr O'neil, but then again when isn't he harsh on people...
There was a knock at the door and Katy was certain Tim took the keys with him. As she opened the door, there he was, she could smell him before she saw him. That fragrance that made her body tingle.
"I'm not taking no for an answer this time!" Mr. O'neil pushed passed her and started making himself a cup of tea. Katy stood still by the door, in shock. Never had she seen him so daring and brave before.
"Why are you here? Don't you have a party to attend to?" Mr. O'neil looked up from his cup with a smile on his face.
"Such a big party, no one will notice I'm gone. But that's not why I'm here Katy." She could feel her hands shaking, Katy wanted to hit him so badly but she knew that wouldn't get her through this.
"I have questions, and I'm sure you do aswell. But I can't wait for another few years to get my answers." Mr. O'neil's smile disappeared he had a serious look on his face. His brown eyes weren't so big any more, they looked sharp and scary, like daggers. "Ok, fire away, what do you want to know?" Katy was not backing down this time. For so long she tried to avoid this man, but not this time. She sat on the couch and sipped on her tea, waiting for him to approach her. Mr. O'neil sat in the armchair across from her,
"Why did you suddenly leave without saying anything?" He looked so concerned.
I can't really tell him the truth, think fast Katy he's waiting. "Look I got a job opportunity and I took it, ok it didn't work out but at least I tried."
Yes that's it he should buy that! Mr. O'neil gave Katy a smile then looked back at the floor, if that's her reason then why is she always avoiding him?
"Look I grew up and things changed, I could never stay as that little teenage girl forever, I'm really sorry Harkin."
Mr. O'neil looked into her eyes, it had been so long since he had heard her say his first name, why did it make him feel like he really was a person. "I know, maybe we should leave the questions to a different night, I need to get back to the party." He stood up in front of Katy waiting for her to say her goodbyes.
Katy smiled and bypassed him to get to the door, "I'll see you later."
Her smile didn't seem so assuring, the last time Katy said this she fled to another country! Maybe I should just grab her now and kiss her? Or maybe that will make her flee again!
Mr. O'neil smiled back at her, walking towards her he couldn't control his thoughts about taking her into his arms and kissing her. "I will make sure your father is returned safely."
With a nod he walked out the door, Katy didn't wait to see if he would look back, as soon as he was out of the doorway she closed the door, making sure it was locked behind him.
Why does he always make her feel like this! One minute she wants to kill him and the next she just wants to cuddle him and help him!
