My eyes slowly opened to the familiar dark cave. When did I fall asleep? I was still tired so I turned, closing my eyes and snuggled deeper into the strange warmth that was lying next to me. I didn't know who or what is was and I was too exhausted to care. The source of warmth had a steady heartbeat that echoed in my head. My ears tuned into it, enjoying the sound. Then a faint, but distinctive, voice whispered in happiness. It was my inner wolf, and it kept repeating the same word. Mine. I wondered what it meant by it, but like I said before I was too tired to care. Of course, then I heard the mysterious thing next to me groan. I opened one eye wanting, now, to figure out what the hell I sleeping next to. Crap! The source of warmth was none other than Ryder. Damn, my life! A part of me wanted to get up but the other part wanted to stay like this. Well, the part that wanted to stay won, damn it. I sighed, internally cursing. Though, I couldn't help but notice his sleeping form. I didn't know why but I took the time to study every detail, from his soft looking lips to his messy blonde hair and the way he....whoa, what the hell?! What am I saying? I don't feel that way toward him. Not at all. The only reason I'm acting weird right now is because of the traumatic incident that happened and I'm still shaken up from last night. Yeah, that's it, blame it only the trauma and alcohol. Ryder groaned again, signaling that, this time, he was waking up. Crap, I've got to think fast or this could get more awkward than it already was. I started to get up when my name was whispered. The way he said my name sent shivers down my spine. Damn him. Blue eyes met green as he gazed at me with a smirk.

"What, no good morning kiss?" He said in a deep husky voice. My cheeks grew red at his words. Trauma, blame it on the trauma.

I was able to return to my normal composure before answering "Gotta buy me dinner first." I replied. His smirk grew larger, "Anyway you still got some explaining to do."

He sighed, "Like what?"

"Well for starters...I'm want to know why you guys just let me go so easily after the whole forbidden ritual or whatever."

"Oh..." He cleared his voice nervously.

"Oh, what?" I demanded, "Please for the love of God don't say I've been watched and raised by wolves my entire life!"

"Dammit man, it's too early in the morning for that Twilight crap..."

"Not true, in fact it's always been my dream to get whisked away by Edward Cullen" I stated intending all the sarcasm in my voice.

"Fine, you weren't raised by wolves but we did watch you. My father has never dealt with a human being turned through the ritual and he wanted to take extra precautions. He ordered some of our pack members to watch over you, to see if anything unexpected happened."

"Unexpected like what?"

"Like....your body not being able to withstand the gift or shifting and killing someone."

"You mean like last night because that worked out so great." His eyes hardened at my comment.

"Yeah well after a few months, they determined that you were harmless, but, just in case, they made sure to repress any memory that you or your brother had of that day." I saw a glimmer of pain in his eyes when he mentioned the repressed memory but it disappeared soon after.
