Maya

Riley talked and talked about how she will always be there for me and be the best aunt ever to the baby. She would get an award for goofiest aunt.

"I know I've said it a hundred times but I'm here." She smiles. I was still scared out of my mind. I wanted to go cry.

"Maya? Riley?" We turn to see Lucas pop into the window. Farkle not long behind. He climbs in and runs over. I stand up and he wraps me in a hug without hurting my stomach. "Maya, that isn't something that you should be on your own about. You should've told us." He says.

"I know. It's just, I don't know what to do, and I'm still scared." I say. "I'm having a baby before I graduate, no father, probably a horrible mother too." I put my hands on my face.

"Hey, Maya, don't you remember what you put on my card? I'm an aunt. I'll be here." Riley says.

"Yeah me too." Lucas says.

I smile, but cry. "T-Thanks..." I say to them. "It really does mean a lot." We sit there for about a minute longer before I say, "So, I need to tell your parents Riley, but I need more cards." Riley chuckles. "I'm gonna go home." I say.

"I'll walk you home." Farkle says. I smile and nod. We walk out the front door, I wave to the Matthews before I leave though.

"So, I have an idea." Farkle says.

"Oh, you do?" I mock. I give him a little shove. He smiles.

"Okay, so I know you're going to think it's crazy. You're going to have to listen to all of it though." He says.

"Okay."

"Well, I was wondering.. If you'd let me be a father figure to the baby. You don't have to though!"

What was he thinking?

"I just, thought you might feel better if someone was a guy and there for the baby."

I stood there in astonishment. Why would he ask something like that?

"Farkle, I don't think you understand," I start, "I wouldn't want anyone else to go through this. Yes, it will be helpful to have you guys along he way when I don't know what to do, but this isn't your baby. It's not growing inside of you. I don't want to put you in a position where you'll regret it later." I tell him.

He sighs, "I knew you'd say something like that, but I used to babysit for a long time- have fun picturing that." He says. "The kids actually liked me. I came back for another time, but now there older. I feel like I could take this on. Besides, I want to give you some reassurance that you won't completely be in the dark."

Riley

This was so hard to keep away from my parents, but I had to! I couldn't be suspicious at all. I knew I had to lie, but once Maya told them, I'd confess to all of my lies. I think they would understand.

I walked out to the kitchen to grab a snack. My mom saw me while she was cleaning the dishes.

"Hey Riley. I saw Maya here, are you guys better?" She asks me. I nod.

"Oh.. Yeah.. She was here to work things out. She had to go because she's still been feeling sick." I couldn't believe I was lying. It almost hurt.

"She's still sick? Man, she's got a real bad flu." She states, I nod. Yeah, just a flu. Not a baby in her stomach from a man she doesn't know.

"Can you help me dry these sweetie?" She asks. I thought maybe helping her would lift my guilt.

"Sure." I reply. I grabbed a towel and started drying off the dishes. We sort of stayed silent or off the topic of Maya. I was so afraid to slip up.

I was saved by the buzzer once I finished cleaning. I was afraid she was going to ask me to do something else. I skip over to the buzzer and talk.

"Riley." I say in a happy sing-song voice.

"It's Farkle." I buzz him in and he comes in a minute later. "Hey, I need to talk to you." He grabs my arm. We go to my room where Lucas still was.

We sit down, Farkle starts explaining this whole idea about how he wants to be a father figure. Maya was freaking out and told him to reconsider.

"I agree with Maya." Lucas says, taking a squishy ball and throwing it up and down.

"How can you? I mean, Maya's scared that she's going to be like her mom. None of us want the kid to grow up without a dad- I know that for sure." He says, "I'm sorry, but I love her. I love her so freaking much and she doesn't even know it." He takes a face first fop onto my bed.

"Wait what?" I asked.

"You know what I said." I heard him mumble. I couldn't believe it. It was finally happening.

"So cute." I say.

"Farkle, your not even graduated. How can you have the thought of taking on such a huge responsibility?" Lucas asks. He was right, it was a huge responsibility.

"I have thought of it. I've been doing to much research on ways I can help Maya and just common knowledge. I've been asking my mom the weirdest and most embarrassing questions just to understand things! I've been mature since I was super young and I can be even more mature now."

He does have a point though..
