Maya

All I heard was giggling and snaps. I peaked through my eyes, but didn't open them. I saw Topanga and my mother taking pictures of me. Who were they- oh. I forgot Shawn was next to me. I was buried into his shoulder.

I felt Shawn move next to me. I continued to be "asleep" as he woke up.

"What in the hell are you two doing?" I mentally chuckle at him. He really was me.

"You two are so adorable!" Topanga says.

"Just let Maya sleep for any time she has left. She'll need it." He says. I try my best to hide a smile behind him.

The moms give up in defeat and walk away. I felt Shawn lay back and pat my head.

"You can open your eyes, Maya." He whispers. He knew I was awake, somehow.

My eyes pop open and I look up at him, chuckling. "You knew?"

"Yeah, it's like a sixth sense." He jokes around. I shove him slightly. "Just kidding." He says. I get up and look at Topanga and my mom. They tell me good morning and Cory walks out. He sees Shawn and does a running jump over the couch to hug him. He almost knocked me over so I almost pushed him over.

"Merry Christmas buddy." Cory says before walking over to Topanga.

"Alrighty Topanga when's the food gonna be ready. Baby needs some food." I didn't really think about it, since it was only Shawn, my mom, myself, Cory, and Topanga in the room. They all knew.

They all had shocked expressions. Besides Shawn. "Uh, Maya, sweetie. What do you mean? Yourself right?" My mom tries to cover it up.

"Oh, uh..." I had forgotten Shawn figured out last night. Then I felt hands on my shoulders.

"Maya waited for me last night. After I arrived, I figured it out on my own. You don't have to worry about keeping it from me." Shawn says. I nod so they know it's true.

"Okay, so food?" I ask.

"Hey, open up!" We hear the buzzer. I groan and Shawn walks over and asks who it is.

"Eric and Jack." Eric nearly screams through the intercom. Shawn buzzes them in. I've heard about Jack but never seen him. I knew he was around at our Middle School dance, but I didn't see him.

"It's not ready yet Maya, sorry." Mom replies.

"Oh fine. I'll take a shower after I meet your brother." I turn to Shawn. I've been meaning to meet Jack. I was ready to give him a hard time.

I wait for them to knock and Shawn answers the door. Shawn smiles as Eric hugs him first. It's actually kind of weird. I've heard stories about Eric pinning Shawn up against a wall and nearly punching him for the sake of his brother. I could never imagine him doing that now.

Eric looks at Cory, "My brotha." He says.

"My brotha." Cory says in response. Eric and Cory hug and I turn back to Jack and Shawn. I knew they had never really gotten along. But they tried.

"Hey, Jack. Haven't seen you in a while." Shawn says. Jack nods,

"Yeah." I can tell the tension was building in the room. I walk over beside Shawn.

"So you're Jack?" I ask him, the same kind of look on my face when I first met Shawn.

"Yeah." He says.

"I hope that's not the only word you know. That'd be bad." I reply.

"Jack, this is Maya." Shawn introduces me.
