You can't wake up, this is not a dream.

Maya

Today was the day. Homecoming. I was so scared. I didn't want anything to happen to me. We didn't have any plans for today. So I sat around thinking if I should go or not. I kept staring at my red dress. I kept thinking until I fell asleep.

**

Knock knock

I wake up and look to see Farkle in my window. I motion him in and he climbs in.

"What're you doing here? What time is it?" I asked him. I wiped my eyes trying to wake up.

"I'm here because I want to talk, and two hours before homecoming." He says. It was?!

"Oh no." I say with my hands to my head.

"It's fine you have plenty of time to get ready." He says.

"No, I was thinking about whether or not I'm actually going to go or not." I tell him. He looked at me.

"Do you need a reason to go?" He asks.

"Eh, sort of." I tell him and sighed.

"Well I'll give you a reason. Will you, Maya Hart, go to homecoming with me, Farkle Minkus?"

I was taken aback by his suddenness of asking me. But I smiled.

"I would love to."

After the small silence he looks at the dress. "It's beautiful." He says. I smile at him. "I'll see you tonight, Maya." He hugs me and walks out.

My hair, makeup, and dress was all ready. I went to Riley's room where she was waiting for me.

"Oh, my best friend looks so much better than me." She says. I smile at her.

"You have to be kidding me. That blue looks amazing on you." I stare awestruck at her. We stare at each other before hugging.

"Riley! Maya! The boys are here!" We hear Topanga yell. We lock arms and walk out. Both Lucas and Farkle were out there.

"Aw, you girls are so pretty." Topanga says and takes a picture. Then Riley separates from me, to get her corsage from Lucas. Topanga takes a picture. It was adorable of those two. It was Riley's biggest dream.

They got a picture together, then Farkle pulled out a corsage. It was beautiful.

"Who's the corsage for?" Lucas asks.

"Maya, of corse. Since she is my date." He says, he takes it out and pins it to my dress.

"Since when?" Cory asks.

"Two hours ago." I reply. Every gives an 'okay' shrug as Topanga takes a picture of us as well.

"I wish my relationship was this easy." Auggie puts his hand on his face. We all laugh at him.

"Well, are you all ready?" Topanga asks. We all nod. We knew how we were getting there too. Farkle begged his dad to get a limo for us all. That is one grand entrance to homecoming for sure.

"This is amazing!" Riley walks into the gymnasium. There was decorations everywhere, music playing, and lights. It was actually better than I pictured it. It was actually pretty cool.

"Yeah, it is pretty cool." I say. Farkle gives me a nudge.

"Glad you came now?" He asks. I nod. Well, at least I thought I was glad.

"C'mon Riley let's go!" Lucas grabs Riley and they go to the dance floor. I chuckle at Riley because she looked shocked to be pulled away with Lucas. It was funny.

"Here, I'm going to use the bathroom before I pee myself." I laugh as Farkle goes to find a bathroom. I look around to see who's all here.. And I see Mr. Matthews?

I walk over to him and he was surprised because he wasn't looking my direction. "What are you doing here?" I ask him.

He jumped back and looked at me. "Oh, Maya, you scared me." He said.

"Mr. Matthews, what are you doing here. You told us you wouldn't be chaperoning." I say.

"Oh, I'm here.. I'm here because I want to keep my eyes on Riley." I knew he was lying. I stared at him.

"Topanga told you, didn't she?" I ask. He didn't make eye contact with me. "Aw man, I didn't want you to know." I mumble.

"Hey, don't worry, it's okay to be scared of that." He tries to comfort me.

"It's not that. It's that you know about my mom." I say, then walk away. I really didn't want him to know.

"Hey," He grabs my arm. "I promise I won't tell Riley or anyone else."

"So not even your boyfriend?" I smirk at him. He rolls his eyes.

"Yeah, I won't tell him either." He says. I try to force on a smile.

"Okay." He let's go of my arm and I walk away, finding myself to meet back up with Farkle. "Hey, you wanna dance now?" I ask him. He holds out his hand and I take it. We go out to the dance floor and stat dancing. He had a little trouble with it. "Just loosen up, it's all about being loose." I tell him. He tried and got a little better.

*

I swear I lost ten pounds from dancing. I was so tired. Farkle and I went to go get a drink, but someone came around with punch on a tray.

"Drink?" They asked, I nodded. I got handed a red punch and Farkle got blue. The guy walked away. I chugged it, then asked, "When did the school get funds to have people pass out drinks?"

"Psh, I didn't know they has funds to set this up." He motions to the gym.

"Alright, now were going to slow it up a bit. I'd like Maya Hart to come up and sing it for everyone since it is her favorite song." I turn to the DJ (Who was a student), he was motioning for me to come up. I heard the song start and I knew I had to go up.

"I'll be down for the second half." I told Farkle. I ran up to the stage and the DJ handed me the microphone.

"Climb the stairs to your apartment, just to see you holding her." I change the lyrics. "You try to tell me that it's nothing, so I keep coming back again."

I loved this song, and singing it on stage made me feel so alive. While singing, I find Riley and Lucas in the crowd. I smile to them, and I do the same to Mr. Matthews. Then Riley saw who I was smiling at and she went to question her father.

I walked over to the side of the stage where Farkle was. I sat down and he walked up to me.

"We're all afraid of loneliness, were all afraid to die alone." I sing. I stand back up to do the chorus again as people slow dance around the gym. Once the song finishes with he main part, I put the microphone down and let the actual singers finish the song.

I hop down to Farkle and he puts his hand out to dance the rest with me. I put my hands around his shoulders.

All I've got, is cheap wine. Do you mind? All I got is love for you.

I stare into his eyes

All I've got, is cheap wine. Do you mind? I will make time for you too.

Uh-oh

All I ask, please don't lie. 'Cause this time, I won't come back home to you.

I let go of him and grab for my stomach

Repeating days,

"Whats wrong Maya?" Farkle asked.

Where we stayed,

"Farkle, ow, it hurts." I was in pain.

It's okay.

"Maya what's wrong?" I felt light headed

'Cause this time is up to fade.

"I'm sorry."

With the last four strums, I fell.
