25 - Rules.

{Calum's point of view}

"Hello, Calum."

"Hello, Nate." A smug grin plastered on his face. Strolling towards the lanky figure. "Why did you beat Ashton up?" Keeping my stamina and not letting anger show, I stayed a mild distance from him.

"Well it's a shame he isn't you, can't fight your own battles?" His head tilting to the side, a smirk as his hair flopped down in front of his eyes.

"I'm sorry, I don't fight charity cases, it's a downer that Ashton wasted his time on you." I could feel the anger boiling up inside of him, I laughed knowing I'm getting the better of him.

"I'd hit you but, that would be animal abuse." I burst out laughing, the heart machine sounding strong, Ashton is pulling through. My phone vibrated against my thigh, as I locked the door. Letting no entrance from the outside, letting no one escape from the box room. Picking up the phone, I pushed Nate against the wall.

"Arabella not now." Putting the phone down and sliding it back on my pocket. Sending a strong punch to his stomach; coughs and weak laughter coming from his mouth.

"I can do worse to all your boys, back off Hood." Pushing him further into the wall, my arm pressing on his throat.

"You kicked off with the wrong person, Nate," Sending another painful punch to his jaw, my knee coming into contact with his stomach. "Lets make a list of rules: Rule 1. Don't ever threaten me."

I glanced at Ashton as anger boiled hotter inside me, my blood on fire. "Rule 2. Don't hit my mates. Take it up with me or I will put you 6ft under."

"Calum, let's just call it quits." I shook my head as I chewed on my lip, the damaged body crawling away from me. Kicking him in the ribs, he rolled over onto his back - groans of pain dripping from mouth. Droplets of blood rolloing down his cheek to the floor, bruises replacing his pale skin tone.

"Rule 3. Don't tell me what to do." Bending down and looking at his innocent face, a fist came into contact with my jaw. Spitting blood on Nate's face, I stood up to see Ashton's heavy eyelids fluttering open.

"Rule 4. Learn to shut your mouth, and don't let shit come out of it."

"Calum?" I scurried over to Ashton to see Nate opening the door and running out towards the entrance.

"Hey Ash, how you feeling?" A sympathetic smile and upset replacing my anger. Ashton looks so vulnerable; I can't believe he stood up for me, I mean, I'm the one to stand up for the guys and fight their battles as well as my own. Why did he do this?

"I'm ok, just in a bit of pain. Where were you, Cal? I mean, you just left without a word and Nate saw us and he started chatting shit about you. I had to give him what he deserved." I nodded in approval, interperating all the new information.

"Well, I sorted him out, I don't think he will be messing with you ever again." Holding out my hand, Ashton slapped it, the little room echoing. The door boomed open to see an angry looking doctor, his face as red as cherries.

"Out. Now." His masculine voice strong, stern and deep. A bit lik my dad's, I smirked at Ashton, his smug look may hung mine. He knew what I had done, and he thanked me. I walked out, the guys pointing to show that Nate is still hanging around.

Strolling over to him, I kept a smug look on my face.

"Fancy seeing you here!" I bird loudly throughout the hospital, his hands barely bruised as mine are dripping with blood and bruises forming around the cuts - swollen.

"Look, I'm sorry and I won't press charges." Panic flying around him like a bad stentch. I shook my head and shoved my hands in my pockets.

"You see, the only problem is that it doesn't work like that, it's like that. Well not in my book."

"Go take your meds, Calum. I think your illness is rubbing off on me." Wow, real smooth, I thought to myself.

"I'm fresh out of meds and I take no responsibility for what happens to your face if you keep running your mouth." Shrugging, I stormed out of the automatic doors, my body crashing into a small frame.

"I'm sorry I wasn't watching where I was going." Stepping back a familiar face welcoming mine. Arabella.

"Arabella, you can't be nowhere near me. If the guys found out we were hanging out today; actually hold that thought. My fucking best friend is lying in pain because I spent a few shitty hours with you." Tears forming in her eyes, I regret what I said straight away but, I can't back down now.

"I'm so sorry Calum."

"Go play with pretty boy, not my heart." Pushing past her shoulder, I walked away, a few years escaping my eyes.
