Whisperings. I heard whisperings all around me but I couldn't make out what was being said. The voice sounded cold and dead and I shivered as the whisperings began again. Apparently, the little girl lying on the bed also heard them, as her eyes were wide with fear and she clutched her teddy bear close to her chest.I wanted to reach out and comfort her but when I tried moving and speaking I could do neither of the two. Time seemed to freeze as a tall figure stepped out of the shadows. The figure was clad in all black; even his hands bore black leather gloves. His back was facing me so I couldn't see his face. He seemed to be gliding across the floor and he didn't make a single sound with each step he took. As he neared the girl, she grew pale and she noticeably began to shiver.

My eyes were fixed to the mystical figure that took its own sweet time to reach the little girl.

For a brief moment I wondered how I ended up here and why I was invisible to the girl and the figure. But all those thoughts vanished when I saw that the figure had reached the girl and was now bending towards her. A covered hand reached out to her and I watched as it curled around her small throat.

Then suddenly, I could no longer breathe. I clutched my neck and my chest began to heave up and down as my lungs tried to gather any air into it. My eyes automatically moved to the little girl and I saw that she was in the same position as me. It took only a second for me to realise that I was feeling what she was. Questions flooded my mind but I had to push them away as I was on the brink of death.

"You can not hide. Death will find you. And I will be the one to send you to your grave. Always remember that child!"

And just like that, like he had not throttled a child a mere minute ago, like he had not just promised an innocent little girl that he would be the one to kill her, he turned and walked out of the room. Or more like glided.

And as he lifted his hand up to open the door, his sleeve rode up and I saw a pink, circular scar that occupied his right wrist.

As soon as he left the room the little girl started to sob uncontrollably. And now I really wished that I wasn't rooted to the ground so that I could comfort her. But life wasn't fair and I was still stuck to the floor so all things put aside, I just wanted to get out of here.

I woke up with a fright but when I looked to my left I realized that it was only Connor shaking my arm.
My hand travelled to my throat and I left it there for a few minutes. My thoughts were swirling as I tried to comprehend my dream. I could feel what the girl was feeling. That was the strangest part.

I couldn't help but think about my other two dreams that I had. Something was off about them. The more I thought about it, the more confused I felt. And then it clicked. In all of my dreams there was a little girl. And it was the same girl in all three.

I don't think I will ever forget the words of the mysterious man in my dream. No, how could I forget it when his cold, sinister voice whispering the promise of death played in my head over and over again like a broken tape recorder. His voice sounded so familiar like I had heard it before.

I had figured one thing from my dreams; and that was that it could maybe, just maybe not be dreams after all, but rather memories. How else can I explain how I felt what the little girl felt.

"Tessa, are you alright?"

I was cut from my ridiculous thoughts by Connor's voice. Silly me for thinking that my dreams could be memories. Why would I think of such a ridiculous theory!

"Tessa!" I jumped with the sound of Connor yelling my name and I bumped my head on the top of the car in the process. Ouch! I rubbed my sore head and glared at Connor. Sheesh, he didn't have to be so loud!

"Why are you screaming when you're right next to my ear, Connor?"

"It's not my fault if you're deaf and can't hear me calling you for the past five minutes!"

I stuck my tongue out in reply.

"Real mature ,T." I watched as the corners of Connor's eyes crinkled with amusement. Wait, back up, did he just call me T?

"Did you just call me T?" I stared at him with a scrunched up face.

He reached out with his hand and smoothened out my forehead. "Yup, I did. It's my nickname for you." I watched with wonder as he lightly traced the side of my face, his hands coming to rest at the nape of me neck. My pulse throbbed and I was sure that he could feel what his touch was doing to me. I'm so lost. I can't understand these feelings. I can't understand why I respond to his touch like this. My mind suddenly cleared and Aiden's face took its place. I couldn't help but feel guilty, as though I was cheating on him. That was ridiculous, seeing as though we don't even like each other like that.
My cheeks flushed at the look Connor was giving me. The heat of his stare made my toes curl and my heart started doing a dance of its own.

"Well then, I'll call you R."

We both snapped out of our trance-like states at the sound of my voice.
Stupid me. I had to go and open my mouth.

Connor quickly retracted his hand and moved a few steps back. In all this haze I didn't notice that I was sitting in the car while Connor was standing outside, next to me, probably when he came to wake me up. I cleared my throat and slowly got out if the car, trying to stall long enough to compose myself. I turned to look at my new home and I was pleasantly surprised to see a two storey, cosy-looking cottage.

"Wait, why are you going to call me R?" I turned to look at a confused looking Connor.
"I'm not going to call you C. I want to be original so I'll call you by the last letter of your name."

Connor gave me a weird look and muttered something about me being crazy. Then he turned and tarted walking to the front door of his house, gesturing for me to follow him.
Whew! That was a close one. Thank god he bought that silly story because the truth was that I was so dazed by what he did that I couldn't think straight and I said any random letter to get out of our very compromising situation. I'm so glad the letter I blurted out was from his name.

I placed my hands against my cheeks and I followed him to the front door, where he was fumbling with his keys, and his hand was shaking for some odd reason. At last he managed to open the door and I sighed with relief, welcoming the cool wind that hit me as I entered my home. ______________________________________________________

Hey there :)

Weeeell, I updated after like a.... really long time. I'm so sorry. I've been busy with exams and school so I didn't have time. Buut, I'm on holiday at the moment so hopefully I can make some progress with this book before school starts again.

So, I know that originally Tessa left Conner but then I realized that I wanted to change that part. So Tessa is still with Connor and she is still gonna be living with him! I EDITED THIS CHAPTER AND CHANGED IT. THE PLOT ISNT THE SAME ANYMORE. TESSA IS STILL GOING TO BE LIVING WITH CONNER. SHE DOES NOT LEAVE HIM AND WALK AWAY!!!

Anyways, hope you enjoyed the chapter. Don't forget to vote, comment and share :D
