Kaitlyn woke up with excitement. Today was her 18th birthday! Kaitlyn bolted up, and changed from her gray shirt and black sweats. Quickly pulling on her normal outfit, and brushing her hair. Her ears twitched slightly from all the excitement. Her tail flicked happily.
Kaitlyn ran out her door, down the hall, and sliding down the bannister. Her feet touched the ground, dragging her to the kitchen.
"Hello my people!!!" Kaitlyn greeted, Elsa posing it, "How are you all today??"
Everyone looked up at her, giving her questioning looks. Well, everyone but the other Proxies. They were absent.
Kaitlyn frowned, "Where are my Proxy Partners?!?!"
"Didn't you hear?" Jeff asked, "They're on a special mission. They won't be back until late."
"Oh... Wait... Where's Smile???" Kaitlyn asked.
Jeff shrugged, "I dunno. Spreading the word?"
Kaitlyn nodded, and went to the computer room. Sure enough, Smile.Dog was sitting there, in his human form, emailing and forum-posting the three eerie words, "Spread the Word", over and over.
"Hey, Smiles~," Kaitlyn said, hugging Smile from behind.
"Hey, love!" Smile.Dog responded, leaning his head back.
"So, do you know what today is~?" Kaitlyn asked, hopeful that Smile.Dog had remembered.
Smile.Dog smiled, "Indeed. It is your birthday, isn't it?"
Kaitlyn began to nod, but before she could get anything out, Grinny.Cat burst through the door, "SMILE!! THERE YOU ARE!! God, you are so useless!!" Grinny pulled Smile away from Kaitlyn, "Get your ass over here NOW!!!"
"God!! You don't have to be so rude!! Kaitlyn, love, I'm sorry but I have to-" Grinny cut him off.
"Stop talking to your girlfriend!! We have work to do!!" Grinny spat, dragging him out of the room.
Kaitlyn could hear Smile whimpering a bit. Kaitlyn felt her heart hurt. Poor Smile... Kaitlyn looked down. Now she was all alone on her birthday. Lucky her.
~~~TimeSkip, Kitty's POV~~~
I was feeling extremely sad today. No one could hang out with me. Not even Sally. I felt like crying. Dollhouse suddenly opened my door.
"Hey, sweetie, what's up? Everyone's waiting! C'mon, dearie. No time to waste!!" Dollhouse quickly dragged me downstairs, to see a huge party set up. Black Veil Brides was playing in the background. I loved that band!!
I saw all my friends and Smile waiting just for me.
"Happy birthday, Kittay!" "Happy birthday." "H-Happy b-birthday!!" "Happy birthday to you!" "Best wishes!"
I walked over to Smile, and wrapped my arms around him, in a nice, warm embrace.
Smile greeted me with a kiss, "Happy birthday, Kaitlyn. I love you."
I smiled. Everyone had remembered. They just had been preparing an awesome surprise!! "Thanks everyone! And I love you, too, Smile!" I said, kissing him back. Today was a good day, after all!!
