"You know what, Doctor," Rose said, roaming the console room. She was in her blue track suit, sporting the 2005 Brittany Spears style. The Doctor, completely ready for the day in his trench coat and Converse, was absentmindedly pressing buttons and pulling levers as they floated through the time vortex. They were just floating along until either The Doctor or Rose chose a destination or the TARDIS chose one for them.

"What?" he asked as he stared at the console. Rose smirked, remembering how she and Sarah Jane joked about an ongoing relationship between the Doctor and his blue box.

"I was thinking. What if we didn't go to another alien planet for some festival or back in time to see Mozart?"

"Yeah?"

"I mean, why not do something simple for once? Everyone in the universe would kill to have the TARDIS just so they could do the silliest things. Why not do something silly?"

"Like what?" the Doctor said, finally looking at Rose. She had his attention at last. With a bright smile, she skipped up to him and leaned forward.

"I don't know. What's something everyone wants to do, but no one can?" she asked. The Doctor looked back at her with an amused grin. "Oh, I know. McDonald's."

"McDonald's?" the Doctor parroted back. Rose laughed.

"Yes! I want to go on one of those big play things, but they won't let grown-ups," Rose said. She grabbed both of the Doctor's hands and looked up at him with puppy eyes. "We could just go in after closing, just for a few minutes to go down the tube slide, and then we'll leave."

The Doctor, still locking eyes with Rose, reached over and pulled down a lever. Smiling a bit, he said, "All right then, alons-y!"

Minutes later, they were in a rather dark room with a giant plastic playground. Rose stepped out after the Doctor, who was suddenly in a giddy mood. He didn't even give Rose a chance to look around the room before grabbing her hand and pulling her towards the massive structure. Rose went in first and led the way through the tunnels and triangle staircases. The Doctor was right on her tail, pushing her to go faster, although he didn't mind the view.

Rose reached the slide first. She stared down the twisting tube as she waited for the Doctor. Once he was by her side, they looked at each other and laughed at their childishness. Rose scooted forward and the Doctor put his legs on either side of her and wrapped his arms around her waist. Giving it another scoot, they began the journey down the slide. Rose shouted with joy on the way down and the Doctor echoed. Rose was about to give another hoot when they suddenly got stuck at a corner. The Doctor's foot got caught and the rest of him kept moving, and suddenly he was on his side staring down the tunnel. Rose's foot got caught between the Doctor's legs and her other foot was on top, preventing either of them from budging. She was now on her stomach, head first.

Both of them laughed after making sure the other was all right. Rose complained about her ankle for a second, but it wasn't too bothersome at the moment. The Doctor looked at his watch and noticed the time; there were only five minutes.

"Oh, brilliant," he said with a low chuckle. Rose strained herself to look back.

"What is it?"

"They're about to open." Rose looked forward again and laughed.

"And we're stuck in the kiddie playground. All right, I suppose we better get to figuring this out then," she said. The Doctor laughed in agreement.

Rose tried moving forward, but her ankle that was trapped between the Doctor's legs had a sharp pain, making her gasp. Seeing as moving that leg wasn't going to work at the moment, the Doctor tried lifting his leg, but found that it was pinned by Rose's other leg, which was wedged between the top of the slide and the Doctor. Rose tried wriggling herself loose, but it simply was not working. Looking for a new solution, the Doctor did his best to push his body back to where he was facing forwards. After wasting lots of energy and accidentally messing with Rose's ankle, he finally managed it. Rose's feet both easily came loose after that. Rose and the Doctor slid down the rest of the way, laughing all the way. Rose let herself fall off the end onto the padded mat. They sat there for a moment, laughing and catching their breath and laughing again.

Suddenly, a light turned on. Rose said up and the Doctor looked to the kitchen to see a manager walking in, a rather large fellow with a mullet haircut that fell past his shoulders. The Doctor hopped to his feet and helped Rose up. Her ankle didn't hurt too badly, but she still limped a little when they jogged back to the TARDIS. After flipping the lever to take off, the Doctor turned back to see Rose sitting on the floor, examining and wrapping it on her own. He sat down in front of her, cross-legged, and took her foot into his lap to finish the wrapping for her.

"Too tight?" he asked as he put on the bandages.

"No," she said.

"How bad does it hurt?"

"Oh, I'll be better by morning, I'm sure," Rose said.

"Was it worth it?" the Doctor asked curiously.

"Oh, every bit," Rose responded. The Doctor looked up with a small grin as he finished the bandages and set her foot aside. He leaned forward and Rose, swinging her leg around so she was mostly on her knees, met him halfway for a sloppy kiss, which was only sloppy because they couldn't stop smiling.
