Prompt: Imagine all members of your OTP, one way or another, receiving amnesia, but later on end up meeting up once again by chance. Whether their memories are returned or not is up to you.

Disclaimer: There wasn't a villain suitable for my story, so I made the Manducanimus up. I derived the name from Latin words that mean "memory" and "to eat."

HINT: Remember: S1E1 "Rose" was released/occurred on March 26, 2005.

"Doctor, what are they?" Rose asked. The two of them were strapped down to chair sitting back to back. Her heart was pumping and her mind was racing.

"They're called the Manducanimus. They're like Time Beetles or Weeping Angels. They feed off of changes in life," the Doctor said. They both stared at the aliens that lined the edge of the room. They looked like giant red ants with their scrawny legs and four arms sticking out of their white lab coats.

"What kind of changes?"

"Anything. Changes in memory, serious decisions being made or even changing decisions, or being sent back in time. They feed off the energy that gets released when someone's life changes. It's like the background radiation I told you about. You get all types of it attached to you throughout life, and they strip it off of you one way or another and feed off of it," the Doctor explained. Rose watched one of the aliens carry over a silver case and present it to the others.

"So these things are basically eating us, then," Rose said. "That's not good."

"Right, they're going to try to eat parts of us. The problem is depending on which part of us they eat, we might have some serious issues."

"How so?"

"There's certain ways to reverse the process so whatever they take snaps back to us, like a bungee cord, but they make it so that's almost impossible. Every victim is put into one simulation room, and they're all in these lucid dream states," he said. A similar silver case was put on a table in front of him. One of the Maducanimuses opened the case and put on the gauntlets that had been lying on the table. Then, he removed a memory worm from the case.

"Well, what's going to happen to us and how do we reverse it?" Rose asked. She was getting more nervous as the Doctor kept speaking, but she felt like she had some control over everything with the more she knew.

"We're going to forget. I'm not sure how much. They'll keep us under observation so they can harvest the energy. Rose, listen: we might get separated. You have to figure out what's real and what isn't, Rose," the Doctor said frantically as the worm came closer. Rose was also beginning to panic as the alien pressed the worm to her arm. She held back a scream.

"Doctor," she yelled.

"Rose," he yelled back as the worm was pressed to his arm as well. "I'll find you, Rose! I'll find you!"

Rose hit her blaring alarm. She was in bed in her room in her mum's house. For a moment, she had to think of what day it was. The last thing she remembered was Friday, March 25, 2005. Must be Saturday, then, she thought. Must have had a hell of a night last night. Can't remember a thing.

She climbed out of bed and walked out of her room. Her mum wasn't home. Chances are, she spent the night at her new boyfriend's house. Rose couldn't remember his name. She could barely keep track of the faces that passed through her mother's life. She didn't think much of it and continued to make herself scrambled eggs. Her head was pounding so hard she couldn't stand it. She felt horrible. In fact, Rose thought she had never had a hangover this bad.

The Doctor woke up in his bed in the TARDIS. As he sat up, he was hit with a sudden wave of depression as he realized this was his first morning as the last of his kind. He rolled over and ran his fingers through his hair. It felt oddly smooth, a feeling he wasn't used to yet since his new regeneration. He ran his tongue along his teeth, thinking the new set was rather odd.
