Mae's eyelids fluttered as she awoke, looking up to see the blurred face of Deitonin.

He smiled weakly, "Welcome back..."

"What...?"

The Daemon raised his blackened, blood soaked hand and wiped the blood dripping from his mouth, but only smeared gore on his face, "I healed you..."

Mae blinked, her hand drifting to her side. Her eyes widened as her fingers brushed over the smoothed skin, "W-what...?! This...this is..." she trailed off.

He watched her, his ears perking at her thoughts.

Is this a dream...?  She thought. My wound...my scar...gone? How...how is this possible?

Deitonin smiled weakly, "It isn't...a dream..."

Her eyes widened and she looked up at him in surprise. Deitonin sighed as he scooted against the wall, "Yeah...I'm afraid you'll probably have a scar still...I had to use a lot of my Darkness..." he then licked some of the blood off his hand.

Mae's gaze dropped. "Oh..."

He leaned over and placed a kiss on her cheek, "Hey...don't be sad..."

"I'll still carry a reminder..." Mae murmured.

Deitonin slowly scooped her into his arms as he stood, "I will lessen it once the blackness leaves my arm..."

She curled up against his chest, closing her eyes tightly. He slowly carried her to Samos's study, feeling unnaturally cold as the blackness spread up his arm a bit more.

"Samos. I need your help."

He turned. looking at the Daemon's arm, "By the Precursors, what happened?"

Deitonin sighed, "Her stitches...popped..."

"I see..." Samos replied.

He set Mae on her feet as his legs buckled under him and he collapsed, suddenly feeling drained. Samos and Mae moved to him as he covered his mouth and coughed up blood, "Damn it..."

Mae frowned, going to grab a towel. He looked at the mostly violet fluid clinging to his hand, "No..."

Deitonin sighed as he looked up at her as she knelt by him. He ended up coughing up more blood, gritting his teeth as he hunched over in pain.

Mae looked to Samos, "Do you have anything to help him?"

Deitonin laid down, "I'm fine..." he murmured, "Just...sleep..."

He felt Mae put her arms around him and carefully pull him up onto the leather couch in the corner of the room. The Daemon looked over to her with hazy eyes as she ran her fingers through his hair.

He smiled as he touched her cheek, "Hey...Don't worry about me..."

"I can't help it."

The Daemon looked over to Samos, "Hey...Do you have any Green Eco...?"

"Green Eco...yes, I do. But what for, Deitonin?"

"Healing..." he replied.

"I see..." Samos responds.

Mae looked away, suddenly pulling from Deitonin. This made him frown as he looked at his blackened hand, "I wonder why the Dark blood has reawakened..."

He looked to her in concern, "Hey...I'm not going to lose myself again."

"It's not that..." She said.

Deitonin frowned, "What's bothering you then?"

She looked at the ground in what seemed to be shame, "It's my fault..."
