"There is a house built out of stone
Wooden floors, walls and window sills
Tables and chairs worn by all of the dust
This is a place where I don't feel alone
This is a place where I feel at home."
-The Cinematic Orchestra, To Build a Home
Alison's POV
It was a chilly March afternoon, where we were still waiting for the heat to dazzle its way and replace the lurking coolness that went up and down our spines. It was also two months since Caroline was arrested, Harry was rehired and I could come back to school.
School had just ended for two weeks since spring break had started just this Monday, it was Wednesday. Most of the student and teacher population went out on vacation, or just went back home to see their relatives. I feared to come home, only because I was afraid of what my mom thought of me. Which is why I never called her?
But anyways, here I was- sitting in my room all alone while all of my friends were out, lying on my bed and humming to the catchiest song from the radio. There was a light knock on my door.
"Come in," I said, as I sat up.
Harry walked into the room, giving me a small grin that showed his two dimples.
"Good afternoon," I smiled at him. "Just woke up from medications?"
Harry nodded.
It wasn't till after the dance where I found out that Harry was taking medication for his anger and panic attacks. After he'd escape the mental ward, they eventually found him and when we tried to convince them that Harry would be doing better by staring here- they said it was fine as long as he took his pills. I never knew how much grief and pain he was going through just by my disappearance, but I don't blame him, it affected everybody. He went through so much, he even lost himself at one point and felt a feeling that everyone mistook for depression- but was just grief, misery and low mood.
He was doing better now, and now that we had each other and our own group of friends to rely on, we were both slowly healing from all the scarring moments that had occurred.
"What are you doing just sitting here, doing nothing?" He asked, planting a kiss on my cheek and sitting down next to me.
"Being bored," I muttered. "Life has gone pretty slow ever since all the hysteria has died down."
"It has been two months since homecoming hasn't it?" Harry asked.
I nodded. "Two months can go by pretty fast, but I wouldn't change anything."
Harry looked over at me. "Do you... want to go somewhere; like right now?"
"Where?" I asked, raising my eyebrow.
Harry stood up. "It's a place that we haven't visited in a while, and I thought it'd be nice to check out."

"Are you okay?" Harry asked, noticing the shakiness in my hands as we walked towards the burned down cottage that had been untouched since the fire.
"Y-yea-... I don't know." I admitted. "It's just been so long.."
And that's when the flashbacks started once more.
"NO!" I screamed loudly, staring at both the fire and Caroline in disbelief.
