REMINDER: Don't forget to smile today beautiful! :-)

The next day I woke up feeling great. I took a nice warm shower and decided to wear the striped shirt today with red jeans and toms. I felt really gleeful right now (I'm a morning person) and wanted to wear something bright. After putting everything into my bag I threw it over my shoulder and headed off.

First class was Math. Ugh. Maybe here I could stop trying to be a perfectionist, except I can't. I just have to get straight A's. Being a straight A student at the moment isn't as great as it looks like. Sure getting good grades makes you really proud of yourself, but it's hard to maintain a 4.0.

I walked into the classroom, noticing the teacher wasn't there yet and sat down on one of the empty chairs.

"Hello!" The girl sitting next to me greeted. Her eyelashes were really big and she had long brown hair that went over her shoulders. Even though she was wearing a uniform, she added her own style to it, so it looked unique and cool.

"Hi, I'm Alison, call me Ali." I replied.

"I'm Cher, call me... Um... Cher?" She said and burst out laughing. Her laughter soon faded away. "So, you new here I haven't seen you here before? Either that or you've been invisible this entire time."

"Yup, I mean yup as in I'm new, not that I've been invisible or anything." I said; face palming myself in utter embarrassment.

"Okay class take your seats, class will now begin!" Yelled a voice as someone burst into the room. I faced upward, looking in the teacher's direction. He had a plaid shirt on and jeans. He had brown hair that was straight but at the same time curly.

"I'll be your math teacher for the rest of the year. So why don't we introduce ourselves? I'm Mr. Payne."

"Good morning Mr Payne." The entire class chorused, flatly.

"Outside of class you can call me Liam, but here you call me Mr. Payne. Understood?"

"Yes Liam Payne." The entire class answered at once.

"I will also be teaching other classes too, but you'll see later which ones I am teaching in." Mr. Payne said. "Now, onto math. Today we are going to review the basics. Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. It will get your brain warmed up for the rest of the year." He sniffed a bit, and I looked to the other students but they acted like nothing happened.

"I apologize. I was just thinking of something, a movie." Mr. Payne sniffled.

"Toy story again Mr. Payne?" One of the students called from the back of the room.

"Yeah... Okay back to mathematics." Mr. Payne said, focusing in Math again. He turned on his laptop and went onto his files. He faced us again. "Everyone ready? If you don't know the lyrics, you can just listen for now. But I expect everyone to be singing by the third class."

We all nodded. Singing? I thought this was math class? Maybe I got confused with another class? No stupid, Mr. Payne said himself that this was math class. Music started playing and the students began to sing.

You're insecure, so half of four.

Your old brains are not what they were befo-o-ore.

Add two threes, it's fun for us. Cause we are young and we can still remember stu-u-uff.

Everyone else can multiply by sixty, everyone else can add two.

Now take off one hundred and add on twenty four

Then divide by two then add on seven more

And if you're struggling now it's not hard to tell

You don't know, oh, oh, your math skills are terrible

....

What the heck was I listening to? This is math class? Seriously? Wow Uncle Simon, what a school you are running.

....

If only you had a mind like me,

You'd understand how to divide the sum by three

The just add on the age of this OAP

You don't know, oh, oh, your math skills are terrible

It's really kind of pitiful!

...

Mr. Payne closed his laptop and smiled in amusement. "That was great! Now onto algebra..."

*~*

Once class was dismissed we all gathered our things and headed off to the next class. Just as I was about to leave—

"Wait! Ms. McKenzie!" Mr. Payne said. I turned around and walked up to him.

"Yes Mr. Payne?" I asked.

"Call me Liam."

"But we're not out of class..." I muttered awkwardly.

"Really, it's fine." Liam chuckled. "So you're Simon's niece huh?"

I nodded. "Yup! Sometimes he can be pretty... honest? But he's still a good guy with feelings just like the rest of us."

Liam nodded, almost looking impressed. "Since you're a new student I guess I should warm you about some... people."

"Are there bullies here?" I asked. "Please tell me there aren't bullies here."

"Don't worry. As far as I'm aware of, we don't have any bullies." Liam said, causing me to relax a little. "Just be careful with your English teacher."

"Why? Is he really strict?"

Liam pursed his lips together. "Well... Not exactly."
