The One

  It made him sick. The slightest thought that someone somewhere out there was meant to be with him and not her.

  Why? It might be because he hated it when people used the excuse "Oh, he/she wasn't the one" to justify breaking up with a person, especially if someone used it to justify cheating.

  We are not a God, we are not Him. We do not know and we will never know who is going to be the one that was destined for us, the one that was scripted to be the ultimate end goal of our affection.  This is quite scary, because we just do not know who's who, it could be that person you just saw 5 minutes ago, or it could be that friend you've always known since you were little. Simply put, we are clueless and being clueless is scary.

Sad truth is, most will choose the person they were last attracted to. That cute boy that is in the same class as you or that beautiful blonde that works over at IT, as long as they are attracted to that person, everything will just feel "right" even if it isn't.

  To be with someone, to be with the one, will never be something that you just get or magically blessed with, it is something that you work on even with the variable of meeting new "right" people. It is the very same something that makes you say "Hey, I love this person. I will be with this person because I do.". The something that makes you stay even when you have all the reasons to go.

It will not be perfect, it will not be all that you had hoped for (like how they do it in the movies or books), and sometimes it might not even feel right, but for all it's worth being with the person that you love and makes you sane (or insane) is enough to make that person the one.

So do not go out searching for the one because frankly speaking, you are never going to settle down with a definite answer.

To him, she was the one.
And that was more than enough to make him work for a future.
