Chapter 20

Chapter 20:

This is by far the longest day in my life, I feel a year has passed but it is only noon. Even if Kevin and I broke up for our own good it is still a break up, this morning he was so adorable, I can't believe how much I love him.

"Wow! You're such a day dreamer! You have a meeting in 10 minutes!" I didn't hear Sophia entering my office, my mind was really elsewhere.

"A meeting? With whom?" I completely forgot about that, I didn't even review the materials.

"With the Japanese group and Mr. Jacobs"

This is our first encounter after the break up, I don't know how it will be and if we will be able to keep our personal stuff separated from our professional relationship.

Since the meeting will be for 7 people only, it was decided to meet in Kevin's office, if only things can get any worse. The walk from my office to his was really tough, it reminded me when he first came to the company and I was so nervous by just thinking of him. I knocked on the door and waited for a sound from behind the door. Few seconds later the door was opened and a gentleman walked out of it as I got in.

"Good morning Ms. Crown" he said as my eyes went directly to the hint of a smile on his lips.

"If you keep staring at my lips like this, it would be nearly impossible for me not to break those stupid rules of yours and lay you right here on my desk."

His reply took me by surprise but there was a knock on the door that relieved me.

"Saved by the bell Ms. Crown" he said with a devilish look on his face as the door opened and came in the Japanese group we were waiting.

The time during the meeting passed really quickly and Kevin and I were really professional, we focused on the issues we were handling and put aside all the other problems we were in.

Two hours later we were done with the meeting and we agreed to travel to Tokyo to inaugurate the project we've been working on. I kind of was thrilled to finally visit Tokyo and travel with Kevin but then I remembered that we weren't together so maybe this trip wasn't at the perfect timing.

I stayed a little bit longer with Kevin after the meeting to put the plan for our 3 days visit. I got it and gathered my papers and iPad to leave when I felt Kevin's hand on mine.

"Being in a break up with you is taking a lot of energy from me, I don't want to fight my urges towards you" he whispered in my ear as I felt his breath on my neck.

I turned around and found that he was really close to me, barely inches away and I noticed his eyes travelling from my eyes to my lips, I walked away from behind his desk and headed to the door as I turned to talk to him.

"Kevin, don't fight anything, just ignore them for these couple of weeks until everything clears out", I turned and left his office and all the tension inside.

It wasn't until 3 weeks for our trip to Tokyo but I had a lot to do before that time, If this project is a success I will suggest opening a branch in Japan just for ease of organization.

I spent the rest of the day at the office writing reports and making phone calls until I heard a knock on my door and saw Matt coming in with a Starbucks in his hand and a huge perfect smile on his lips.

"Matt What are you doing here? I missed you and I totally need a cup of coffee!"

"Hey gorgeous" he said as he approached me and gave me a huge hug and a kiss on my cheek.
