Chapter Sixteen

“We just had sex” I whispered to the phone as I got out of the hospital. I am sure Sofia will lose her mind to this news, when I told her I was willing to take things slowly she was so proud of me, she couldn’t believe her ears.

“I knew you would break down sooner or later, I knew that little bitch inside you will win, anyways tell me about it, how was it? I bet it was so romantic, he took you to his place didn’t he? You sat in the Jacuzzi drank champagne and then it happened right?” she spoke really fast I couldn’t even interrupt her to set her straight.

“Oh my God you are so talkative will you just shut up so I tell you what happened?” I shouted at her. “I am really sorry to ruin your dreams, but no, nothing of that, nothing romantic, it was dirty make up sex in an empty hospital room.” I said that lowering myself to save myself the embarrassment of anyone near me hearing the details of my sex life.

“You must be kidding me! Are you a porn star or what? This is hilarious please tell me you are kidding, what were you doing in a hospital anyway?”

“I am not kidding, we kind of had a fight last night and we ran into each other in the hospital, we were both visiting a common friend and it happened.”

“Tania Crown you are a bitch and I envy you!” we both burst into laughs as I hung up and got in the car with Scott my driver.

Since I had the day off and it isn’t noon yet I went up state to see my parents, I am used to seeing them almost every weekend so I kind of missed them last weekend.

Right now I am at a moment where I love everything about my life, I am falling in love with a great man, the most perfect man on earth and the good news is that he is falling for me as well, I have the greatest parents ever, I love my job, Richard is getting better. My life couldn’t be better. And then it hit. Whenever I feel this perfection something bad happens right after it. I always had kind of sixth sense, every time I am this happy, this satisfied, something bad will happen and ruin it.

I tried as much as I could to dismiss this feeling as I enjoyed the day with my parents. Being an only child has its perks. You are spoiled, you get all the attention, and everything revolves around you.

My mother was a lawyer, she owned a big law firm in the city, and she is one of the most successful lawyers in town. My father is a neuron-surgeon, when I was a child he was away for sometime but I never felt it because my mom did a great job covering for him. They both retired last year so they “enjoy life” as they said. It is good to retire at the age of 55 when you’re still energetic and fully in love.

After a very delicious lunch I needed some rest, so I went out to backyard and sat next to the pool. I felt my phone vibrate next to me.

“Aren’t you coming to work today?”

I smiled as I read Kevin’s message. I liked the fact that he was checking on me, that he missed me.

“He must be a great man.” My dad interrupted my thought as I he came towards me holding a glass of chardonnay for me and a glass of scotch for him.

“What makes you say that?” I asked him as I took my glass.

“I am you father dear, I know what every expression on your face say, and this smile means you have something going on, and something good I assume.” He replied sitting next to me on the swing.

“Well, you’re right, there is something good going on, and yes, he is a great man, BUT, I don’t want you getting too excited, we haven’t even been out on a date yet.” I said as I laid my head on his shoulder.
