Chapter Nine

I was left alone at the bar and I know that Kevin did it on purpose to get back at me for doing it so many times, but now I know that it feels terrible.

“I bet that was intense” I hear Matt’s voice from behind me while I am still leaning towards the bar.

“Pretty intense, my heart skipped a couple of beats” I said to him smiling.

Matt and I walked to our table where Kevin was sitting. He was in a serious conversation over the phone, maybe it was business. My name tag was on the seat next to Kevin’s and Matt’s next to mine, I was in the middle of two gorgeous men. Matt pulled my chair and I sat while Kevin’s eyes never leaving mine as he was still talking on the phone, I feel so self conscious under his gaze.

As the dinner was served I was having several small talks with the board members who were sitting with us on the same table. Everything was going smoothly until Ruth, Ely’s wife asked Matt and I a very personal question.

“How long have you two been dating? Are you proposing soon?”

This was really ridiculous, why older women have to be this annoying; my first reaction was to laugh really hard. 

“Jesus Ruth do you really have to be this annoying and curious? Leave the kids alone” Ely whispered to her but the entire table could hear him.

“But we still want an answer to this question Ms. Crown” Kevin said in a very calm voice as he took a sip from his white wine.

Before I said anything Matt saved the moment and spoke as all the people on the table were staring at us.

“We met couple of months ago and since then I could not get her out of my mind, I mean look at her, is she easy to let go? I think anyone who is not in love with her is stupid. I won’t lie to you Ruth, of course I thought of proposing but I don’t have the nerves yet” Matt spoke as he held my hand and squeezed it and I smiled slightly.

“I don’t think you have much time, someone might do it before you” Ely teased as the people on the table laughed except for Kevin whose facial expressions are as serious as ever.  I can see he is jealous and that makes me smile.

Matt got a phone call and left the table and the other people were busy talking to each other or eating so basically Kevin and I were alone, by the time I realized that the tension began to grow.

“I know you are lying, you don’t respond to his touches as you respond to mine” Kevin whispered in my ear as he was few inches away from me.

“I don’t think you are being professional Mr. Jacobs” I responded as I backed a little bit. “I appreciate it if each one of us can stay in his own personal space, if you have something to tell me say it out loud, if not I prefer to keep our relation professional”. i have no idea where I got my nerves from, my heart was beating so fast, my hands were sweating and I could feel my face turning red. I was staring at his gorgeous eyes as he smiled and ran his hand though his hair.

The night rolled and everything was going great, we were raising money for a children cancer center and everybody was being very generous. The event was about to end so I went to the bathroom before Matt and I leave. On the way back from the ladies’ room I ran into Kevin who was standing in the hallway alone.

“Good night Mr. Jacobs” I said as I passed by him giving him a nervous smile.

“Say my name” he said as he grabbed my hand and pulled me to his chest. This is the closest position we ever had; I actually could feel his warm breath on my skin.

“That would be inappropriate” I felt speechless but somehow a few words escaped.

“Let’s be inappropriate” he whispered in my ear as he lowered his head and held my hand softly.

I gave him my hand as I touched his face with my free hand, he cocked his head to my touch and closed his eyes. I felt him melting between my hands; I wanted this moment to last forever. At last Kevin and I were having a romantic moment.

“Say my name Tania” he whispered as he caressed my face with the back of his fingers.

What I dreamed about is finally getting true, Kevin really wants me, his touches tells me so, his sweet voice, his warm breath, everything he is doing right this second tells me that he wants me.

“Kevin” my voice was so low I thought he wouldn’t hear it, but his sudden hug proved me that he heard it. He hugged me and pulled me closer to him if that is possible, he buried his head in my neck and kissed it so softly. I hugged him back and ran my hand in his hair. This was really unexpected, I waited for a passionate kiss but instead, I got a very emotional hug, I guess this is something I should learn about Kevin, under this cold figure lays am emotional heart.

Finally after what seemed like ages he pulled away very gently and looked at me with the most soft look ever, he is really a sweetheart I tried really hard not to kiss him or hug him again and I was about to do so when my phone started to vibrate in my purse. I couldn’t care less, nothing will make me look away from this greek god in front of me.

“Let me drive you home” Kevin said with a very sweet voice.

“Mr. Jacobs I really can’t” I replied.

“Damn it Tania, stop rejecting me, stop calling me Mr. Jacobs. Mr. Jacobs is my father and even him you call him sometimes by his first name, you rejected me once Tania I will not let this happen again, call your fake boyfriend and tell him you are leaving with me” Kevin’s mood shifted and he talked to me as cold as he can be. I know I pissed him off but what’s with the mood swings!

“We barely had a moment and you already ruined it, what’s with you?”I snapped really pissed at him.

He looked at me, held my hands and kissed them. “I am sorry, you are just too stubborn, for once do what I ask you and stop challenging me. Please.”

I couldn’t resist his sweet request and maybe he is right, I should stop giving him a hard time, it is obvious he trying his best.

I pulled away, turned and walked away giving him my hand to hold it. “Take me home Kevin.”

Hellooooooo happy new year everybody! I'm really sorry i was late to update but i was on a vacation with my fiance. 

I am sorry as well for the short chapter but i wasn't really inspired for some reason, anyway i will try to do better next time.
